This past December 31, 2010 the ceremony known as the “Letra Del Ano” was realized in the home/temple situated at 8990 Kauffman South Gate, California. Many Ifa priests, Iyalorishas, Babalorishas and individuals which have been initiated in the Yoruba religion made offerings to more than 25 positions and deities. The priest that realized the scripture was the youngest Priest of Ifa of those present with only 3 days of initiation into the room of Ifa.

Oshun is a feminine deity; spiritually she is the mother of the river, she represents the fight for life and is the goddess of love. Oshun is the owner of sweetness, fertility, happiness, gold, and all that is feminine. Oshun was the first feminine deity to come down to earth and she brought with her prosperity. She is syncretized with the Virgin of the Caridad del Cobre in Cuba and the Virgin of Guadalupe in Mexico. Her favorite colors are amber, yellow and coral. Her necklace colors vary depending on the path. Her day is September 12. FLAG OF THE YEAR 2011: White flag with a yellow sun in the middle.

WORK ACTS:

• Plead to Olofin with a basin of milk, Ori (shea butter or cocoa butter), Efun (cascarilla) and 2 white candles.

ADVICE

For this year it is recommended that one reflect and analyze previous errors committed, and to be organized with all aspects in one’s life. Emphasis must be made insightfully with regards to respect for our elders whether they be blood relatives or religious elders. It is recommended for all families to work affectively with each other to avoid separations within. One should avoid all habit forming cycles in order not to degrade oneself either personally or socially. It is recommended to dress in white as much as possible. Avoid any illegal situations where one can be penalized by the laws, for those who have judicial problems/situations avoid dressing with stripes. Marriages and love relationships must be flexible with one another to avoid separation, since astronomically it is a year of separation. For women it is recommended to not interfere or become involved with male negotiations or businesses in which she is not fully informed or completely understands the subject matter at hand; due to the Pataki of The Gallo y la Gallina (The Rooster and the Hen) in this sign. One must be careful with emotional imbalances and nervous breakdowns, also, it is important not to self-medicate and seek professional advice for these types of circumstances. It is of crucial importance to routinely have head rogations done throughout the course of the year.

In the economical aspect, it is a year in which slow, gradual, but positive changes will be seen. It is important to do pertinent offerings so that astronomically and with the help of the deities the economic improvements will be secured. It is advised to offer 2 white roosters to Olokun for economical stability. Also, offering 3 chickens: one for Eshu-Elegba, one for the front door and the third to the left street corner of the house. To avoid losing your home do Ebo with 3 white sand crabs.

This year we will experience internal divisions amongst the political parties including but not limited to republicans and democrats. There will be many attempts to question the President’s actions and decisions, in which situations may be generated to ruin the President’s political image.

It is recommended to the population and corresponding authorities to take pertinent measures and be prepared for seismic activities that will continue hit our planet. Such seismic activity will have repercussions and generate tsunamis. In regards to the weather, there will be extremes experienced; there will be intense cold temperatures and record highs for heat will be reached in many areas of the planet. All measures must be taken to avoid forest fires. Maintain gutters clean and drainage systems properly functioning.

To the general population and to the individuals who have faith in the religion it is advised to receive the Guerreros and Orunmila, this year it is also favorable to receive Olokun. It is recommended for all individuals who for personal reasons must crown saint and have the conditions available to do it, that they do so this year. Ceremonies should be done in which tribute is paid to the Ceiba. This year it is of crucial importance to become very close with Orunmila, in order to have a better orientation in all aspects of one’s life.

PATAKIN

The Head was on its own at the flea market and in front of it many coconuts with which it commerce. Shango came and the Head told him that he could not get the coconuts unless he remedied the situation, since the Head could only talk and it was bored and tired of doing so.

Shango got the coconuts but did not remedy anything so the head told Shango to go for a walk. Afterwards, Orunmila came to the flea market and saw the coconuts. He asked the Head for the coconuts, and the head answered, I will give you all the coconuts with the condition that you remedy my situation and Orunmila agreed.

Orunmila told the Head that it had to do rogation with animals, viands, 2 coconuts and opolopo owo, and feed the head for 16 days while the situation persisted. The Head did all which it was told, and first it developed a chest, then the arms and other extremities and by the end of the 16 days the entire body was formed. With the bones of the animals, the bones of the arms, ribs, ect were formed.

With the viands the visceral and soft parts of the body were formed. Once the body was complete the Head was very grateful to Orunmila and told him, you are my father, and you have come to govern but this operation was necessary in order for all to be complete. The Head then sentenced “that from that moment on Orunmila would govern the world and all would have to go to his feet. “

The council of Ifa Priests that came together to reveal such predictions for the year 2011 advocate and call for the union of all religious individuals within the community. May you

have a prosperous year and may the blessings of all the deities be with you.
