Inception
California Center was originally named during a Signing Ceremony in China by California Governor Jerry Brown with Party Secretary Luo Zhijun of Jiangsu Province.
April 14th, 2013, California Center Founder Margaret Wong (second to the left) witnessed the MOU signing in Nanjing, China to support opening California Center in Jiangsu Province.

Recent Agreement
California Center was also recently named in state supported MOU between Governor Brown and Party Secretary Wang Donming of Sichuan Province (October 2015) to establish California Center in Chengdu.

Margaret Wong has been identified by the Sacramento Bee as the “Business Empress” based on her success in linking multi-million dollar businesses between California and China. For the past 20 years she has also served as Sacramento’s “unofficial ambassador” to China in her quest to promote a better business cultural understanding between the U.S. and China to enhance economic opportunities between both countries she calls home.
In 2012 Margaret was awarded the U.S. Presidential “E” Award for Excellence in Exporting, and in 2011 she received the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) “Exporter of the Year” for both US Western Region and Sacramento District, the same year as one of the fastest growing Asian companies in California.
Margaret founded McWong International, Inc. in 1984 and since that time, she has used her extensive network in China and experience in doing business with China to create one of the west coast’s most successful China trade companies.

In 1997, Margaret founded McWong Environmental and Energy Group (MEEG), which specializes in the export of environmental and energy related technology and equipment for wastewater treatment projects in China. MEEG is one of the most successful U.S. firms doing environmental and energy engineering and construction projects in China for the past 18 years. MEEG has successfully completed over 100 environmental and energy projects that span across steel, petro-chemical, coal-chemical, municipal, pharmaceutical, food & beverage, and various other industries in China.
In 2005, Margaret founded Golden California, Inc.,
