Explore the use of threads, machine stitches, and beads. A demonstration of easy background techniques will show you how to com- plete your wall hanging. You may work from your own photograph or use the patterns provided. This is an intermediate level class. This class is designed for beginners with no previous free motion quilting experience. You will learn how to relax and let your machine do the work as you create free form ‘puzzle piece’ quilting. Are you in a stippling rut? Expand your repertoire of beautiful free-motion stitches! This course is designed for machine quilters who are familiar with free-motion stipple quilting, but need creative ideas to venture beyond stippling. You will take home samples of at least 10 free-motion designs that you learn in this course, including various meandering designs, spirals, background fillers, leaves, flowers and other organic designs. Pre-requisite: Free Motion Machine Quilting skills.

• Sewing machine required with free motion foot.

#7 Beginner Quilting—Easy Rails Daphne Greig

Learn the basics of quilting in this fun class. You will master rotary cutting, accurate seams , basic construction techniques, machine quilting and binding as you make your first quilt. This is a manageable size project . You will have the skills and knowledge to make larger quilts after this class.

This classic purse sized tote is a great starting point into the bag making world. It uses many quilting methods such as rotary cutting and free motion quilting. The flap closure is a great finish. Let Daphne take you on a walk on the wild side as you learn to cut with no rulers or templates and how to do free-form curved piecing by machine. It is not nearly as hard as it looks! Use your curve piecing samples for small art pieces or a table runner. We will also explore embellishing with machine stitching. • Sewing machine required.

#15 Machine Quilting with Decorative Stitches Daphne Greig

Friday, April 11 10:00 am—12:00 noon $20.00 (plus supplies) 1 session

Did you buy that sewing machine with hundreds of stitches? Do you use them? Learn how you can use these stitches to add interest and excitement to your machine quilting. Learn

how to select the right stitches, choose needles and threads and make a set of samples for reference for all your future quilting projects.

• Sewing machine required. • Open toe foot recommended.

CLASS POLICIES 1. Classes fill quickly - register early to ensure your space. Fee MUST be paid at the time of registration.

2. Phone registrations taken with VISA and MASTERCARD (Phone 658-2722)

3. If you are unable to attend a class you have registered for and give us a minimum 7 days notice, you are entitled to a full refund.

4. When you advise us less than 7 days ahead of time and we are able to fill your spot, you still get a full refund. However, if we are unable to fill your spot, you will not receive a refund, but class notes will be left for you.

5. Obtain a supply list prior to each class and read it completely to see what supplies are needed and what preparations need to be done. Classes start on time - please be prompt.

6. Students arriving for evening classes will be allowed into the store 15 minutes before class.

7. GST must be added to the listed prices.
