Calculated columns within Mark Centre: for assessment
items with multiple tasks
When are calculated columns used?
When a single assessment task has a number of columns associated you may need to create a calculated column so that it can be mapped within the Grade Management System.
Calculated columns may be required for assessment with:
Subtasks such as quizzes and labs (Refer to Assessment subtasks quick guide/video.)
Multiple Parts (eg. Part A & Part B of an exam)
Multiple Submission Points (eg On-time and late submission or Resubmission) (Refer to Calculated columns within Mark Centre: for multiple submission points quick guide / video.)
Multiple parts of an assessment task
When one assessment item consists of multiple parts (eg Course Profile states final exam is marked out of 50 yet the final exam consists of two separate items – a multiple choice out of 25 and short answer out of 25. The two columns in the Mark Centre need to be mapped to one in the Grade Management System.)
