Caffeine
• A psycho-active stimulant
• Absorbed within 30 to 60 minutes
• Peaks in bloodstream in 1 hour
• Peaks in CNS in 2 hours

• Smokers eliminate caffeine 100% faster than non-smokers
• Tolerance can be developed

• Less than 5% comes from the kola nut

• The typical candy bar contains 1.5 oz. of chocolate

counter medications contain caffeine
