DRAWING TITLE BLOCKS

1. Edit and plot a Standard Think Design Title Block for the following imaginary building drawing.

2. Draw a Standard Title Block for the imaginary building discussed below. Print the same in A4 sheet.

3. Create your own Title Block for the design of the imaginary building discussed as follows. Plot the Title Block in A4 sheet.

Imaginary Building Design.

Baby & Baby Associates is a civil engineering firm dealing with design and construction of buildings in Palakkad & Coimbatore districts. They are currently working on a project “JAIS COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY” constructed by millionare Mr. Ajin Prasad in memory of his close friend Mr.Jais Joseph at Waalayar. The designer of the project is Er.Anna Baby and the supervisor is Er.Bletty Baby. The date of the design verification is 21.11.2111. The drawing is the college master plan drawn to a scale of 1:25

DRAWING ORTHOGRAPHIC VIEWS OF SIMPLE SOLIDS

Use Think Design Software, draw the multi view projections of ANY FOUR of the following solids. Plot the same.

1. A hexagonal prism of base side 25 mm and axis 60 mm long lies with one of its rectangular faces on HP such that the axis is inclined at 450 to the VP. Draw its projections

2. A pentagonal prism of side of base 25 mm and length and height 100 mm is resting on ground on one of its rectangular face, and the axis inclined to VP at 450. Sketch the projections freehand.

3. A tetrahedron of side 40 mm when it is placed such that the axis is parallel to both HP and VP.

4. A square prism of side 40 mm and height 100 mm when the axis is perpendicular to HP and parallel to VP.

5. A cube of 35mm side rests with one of its edges on HP such that the edge on which it rests is parallel to the VP.

Page 9: CADM Lab Manual

6. A cylinder of base diameter 35mm and axis 60mm long lies with one of its generators on HP such that its axis is parallel to both HP & VP. Draw its projections

7. A square pyramid of base 30 mm and height 65 mm rests with one of its edges of its base on HP such that the base makes 300 to the HP.

8. A cone of base 50mm diameter and axis 65 mm long lies with one of its generators on HP and axis parallel to VP.

DRAWING SECTIONAL VIEWS OF SIMPLE SOLIDS

Use Think Design Software, draw and print the sectional views of the

following solids

1. A hexagonal prism of side of base 40 and height 120 is lying on ground

on one of its face and the axis inclined at 300 to vertical plane. It is

sectioned by a cutting plane which is perpendicular to both HP and VP at a

distance of one third length of the axis.

2. A pentagonal pyramid of base side 30 mm and height 70 mm is resting

vertically on its base on ground with one of the sides of the base parallel to

VP. It is cut by a plane parallel to VP and parallel to HP at a distance 35

mm from the base.

Page 10: CADM Lab Manual

3. The frustum of a cone assuming suitable dimensions.

4. A cylinder of 50 mm diameter and 60mm height stands vertically with

base on HP. One of its rectangular faces is then inclined at 30 to VP and

cut by a section plane perpendicular to HP & parallel to VP at a distance of

12 mm from the axis.
