Cachoeiras Falls - Wako Kungo - Xixila Wine Farm - Cabuta Coffee Farm

Includes – transport in fully equipped air conditioned specialist 4x4 vehicles (satellite phones, VHF Radio, 1st aid kits, recovery equipment etc) with English / Portuguese speaking driver guides, accommodation and meals as indicated, all park fees and tolls. This trip is designed to offer a relaxing time in the picturesque rural environment of Wako Kungo at a luxury mountain lodge. We will also visit the Libolo / Calulo region of Kwanza Sul and explore two working farms (one coffee and one wine). We will stay two nights at the very picturesque Lupupa Lodge in Wako Kungo and one night at the comfortable Cabuta Coffee Farm. Day 1: Porto Amboim – Cachoeiras de Binga – Gabela – Quibala – Wako Kungo We depart from Luanda at 6:00am and travel south along the coast towards Porto Amboim where we stop for coffee at a beach restaurant. We then move on to the Cachoeiras Waterfall where we will have a snack lunch. We then continue to Wako Kungo via the coffee town of Gabela and Quibala before arriving at Lupupa Lodge. Accommodation: Lupupa Lodge - Wako Kungo. Meals included –Snack Lunch and Dinner.

Cachoeiras da Binga falls on the River Keve Old bridge above the falls. Tchinganji – Quibala Day 2: Day relaxing at Lupupa Lodge. After the previous days drive, today we will leave the cars parked and enjoy the various activities available at the tranquil and picturesque rural environment of Lupupa Lodge. The activities include, walking trails, bicycle trails, quad trails as well as some game viewing (and even mountain climbing for the adventurous !). None of this is obligatory and many will just take the opportunity to simply relax in the tranquil grounds taking in the mountain air. Accommodation: Lupupa Lodge - Wako Kungo. Day 3: Xxila Wine farm and Cabuta Coffee Farm Today we leave the Lupupa Lodge and travel north towards Quibala and Dondo, turning right through the rolling Kwanza Sul hills to reach Xxila Wine Farm. Here we will have lunch in a restaurant high atop one of the spectacular hills in this region with its spectacular 360 degree views. We will then have a tour of the farm and if staff are available have a guided tour of the wine making process. Views of Xixila Wine Farm and surroundings

After lunch we will enjoy the spectacular vistas and continue our journey, after an off road stint we will reach our evening destination on this day - the comfortable Cabuta Coffee Farm. We will enjoy our evening meal and sleep here in the charming bungalows of the “Sanzala”. Cabuta Coffee Farm

For the energetic amongst us there is the challenge of climbing “Balloon Rock” ! We will then have a guided tour of the coffee farm and witness first hand the beginning of the rebirth of the Angolan Coffee industry (as this is in fact a fully functioning coffee farm). We then leave and move on passing through Cambambe Dam and Dondo where we stop briefly to appreciate the Kwanza River which is very broad at this point. Depending on timings we will either stop at Cambambe or Dondo for lunch. From here we head for home. Accommodation: None Meals included – Breakfast, Picnic Lunch
