TOTE

Beg at bottom edge with circular needle, cast on

118 sts. Pm and join, being careful not to twist

sts. Sl marker every rnd. Beg with a k rnd, work

in garter st for 6 rnds. Work in cable pat,

rep rnds 16 eight times.

Next rnd *P5, [p2, (p1, p2tog) 3 times,

p2, k5] 3 times; rep from * once more

100 sts. Beg with a k rnd, work in garter st

for 4 rnds. Bind off all sts knitwise.

HANDLES

(make 2)

With straight needles, cast on 14 sts. Workrow 4 of cable panel. Cont to rep rows 14

of cable panel 18 times. Bind off.

FINISHING

Whipstitch bottom seam closed. Fold han-

dles lengthwise so that the two St st sec-

tions meet at the center back and sew back

seam of handle. Sew on handles as

shown.D
