Xcelsius Dashboarding
Xcelsius Dashboarding is a newly introduced feature that provides new ways to
report on and analyze CA Clarity PPM data. This feature gives executives and
general users the ability to drill down, change variables and view metrics
differently, with easy and interactive sliders, filters and other tools. These
interactive portlets allow for more powerful reports that can be viewed within CA
Clarity PPM or outside of CA Clarity PPM.
See the Installation Guide for information about how an administrator can set up
the Xcelsius software and make it available to download.
See the CA Clarity-Xcelsius Implementation Guide for details on how to
implement Xcelsius visualizations with real-time CA Clarity PPM data. This guide
is available only from the CA Clarity PPM v12.1 bookshelf available on CA
Support Online (support.ca.com).

New Portlet Type
The interactive portlet is a new portlet type introduced in CA Clarity PPM v12.1 to
support Xcelsius dashboarding. An interactive portlet uses the output from
Xcelsius (a .swf file) and is created by an administrator in Studio or by a user
with the appropriate access rights from the Personal menu.
See the Studio Developer's Guide for more information on creating interactive
portlets from Studio. See the Common Features and Personal Options Guide for
more information on creating interactive portlets from the Personal menu and for
more information on available stock interactive portlets.

Change in Time Slice Definition Value
Semi-monthly is no longer a valid value for time slice definitions for either
Rollover Interval or Slice Period.
Upgrade action: Before upgrading to v12.1, review your time slice definitions.
Edit those definitions that have Rollover Interval or Slice Period set to
semi-monthly and select a new value.
Tip: To help with the investigation, you can sort by the Time Slices column
headers for Rollover Interval and Slice Period to find time slice definitions that
use the semi-monthly setting.
Mapping CA Clarity PPM Lookup Values to Open Workbench and Microsoft
Project
CA Clarity PPM now uses a hidden ID to map and uniquely identify all lookup
values from external schedulers like Open Workbench and Microsoft Project.
Lookup values are now listed in the order in which they are defined in Studio.
Before this enhancement, inactive lookup values were always listed at the
bottom. Inactive values are identified by an asterisk (*).
Upgrade actions:
■ Before upgrading to v12.1, save all local Open Workbench and Microsoft
Project files back to CA Clarity PPM.
■ If you open a project from one CA Clarity PPM server using Open Workbench
or Microsoft Project, save it back to the same CA Clarity PPM server and not
a different server.

Jobs
Rate Matrix Extraction job
In CA Clarity PPM v12.1.0, the Incremental Update Only parameter was added to
the Rate Matrix Extractions job. The Incremental Update Only parameter is a
check box that is selected by default. This parameter works with the Prepare
Rate Matrix Data parameter and the Update Rate Matrix Data parameter to
improve job performance by selecting investments that meet certain conditions.
When the Incremental Update Only parameter check box is cleared, the job runs
normally except does not process inactive investments.

XML Open Gateway
The following changes were made to schemas in the XML Open Gateway.
Idea
Idea instance Description field. Maximum length changed to 762.
File: \xog\src\webroot\WEB-INF\xog\xsd\nikuxog_inv_common.xsd
For an idea instance, a character limit of 762 is allowed for the Description
field. When an idea instance is imported, the same limit must be set as the
maximum limit. The schema nikuxog_inv_common.xsd was modified to
enable the import without any description limit exceeded error.

Reports
The following sections describe the CA Clarity PPM v12.1 reporting changes
introduced for BusinessObjects.
BusinessObjects Installation Changes
■ In previous CA Clarity PPM versions, customers had to install the BIAR files
(that include a universe, reports, folders and database connection object)
using CA Clarity System Administration and command line.
Important! For v12.1, the command line and CA Clarity System
Administration method for installing reports is no longer available. After
properly configuring the Reporting properties from CA Clarity System
Administration, install these BIAR files using the BusinessObjects Enterprise
Import Wizard from a Windows workstation. If you are using a UNIX
environment, install the BusinessObjects client tools on a Windows
workstation. The Import Wizard lets you selectively import specific items (for
example, user groups and ACLs). In addition, the Import Wizard provides
flexibility when importing BIAR files.
Note: See the Installation Guide for more information.
■ In CA Clarity System Administration, a new field named Trusted
Authentication Shared Key has been added to the
Server:Properties-Reporting page. If BusinessObjects is selected as the
reporting option, also enter the (trusted) shared key used by the
BusinessObjects server to authenticate all CA Clarity PPM users. Once this
step is done, CA Clarity PPM can establish a trust with the BusinessObjects
server to allow users to log on without providing a password.
Note: See the Installation Guide for more information.

16 Change Impact and Upgrade Guide
New Business Objects Universes
Previously, CA Clarity PPM shipped with a single BusinessObjects universe. CA
Clarity PPM v12.1 introduces four new pre-built BusinessObjects universes in
addition to the previous universe. The following are supported:
■ CA PPM Investment Universe
■ CA PPM Resource Universe
■ CA PPM Timesheet Universe
■ CA PPM Investment Financial Universe
See the BusinessObjects Universes for CA Clarity PPM Reference Guide for
details on each universe.
Note the following:
■ Each universe contains views written specifically for that universe.
■ All four universes are packaged in a new BIAR file named CA Clarity
Universes. The old universe available in previous versions of CA Clarity PPM
is packaged in a different BIAR file named CA Clarity Legacy.
■ No reports are shipped as part of these four new universes.
Upgrade action: No separate upgrade action is required. These universes are
installed as part of the steps for installing BusinessObjects.
Note: See the Installation Guide for more information.
BusinessObjects Trusted Authentication
For versions before CA Clarity PPM v12.1, when a report request comes from CA
Clarity PPM, the integration checks to see if the CA Clarity PPM user resides in the
BusinessObjects server. If the user does not exist, the integration automatically
creates that user on the BusinessObjects server with an encrypted password.
This process causes problems when other CA Technologies applications are using
that same BusinessObjects server and when you configure LDAP between CA
Clarity PPM and the BusinessObjects server.
Reports
Chapter 3: Reporting Changes Introduced for BusinessObjects 17
The CA Clarity PPM-BusinessObjects Integration now supports BusinessObjects
Trusted Authentication. With Trusted Authentication, report requests from CA
Clarity PPM do not need to have the password authenticated on the
BusinessObjects server. If the user ID exists in BusinessObjects and comes from
a trusted CA Clarity PPM server, the report request is permitted.
The user who requests the report from CA Clarity PPM is the same user running
the report on BusinessObjects.
Note: See the Installation Guide for more information.
Upgrade actions:
■ If pre-upgrade users must log in to BusinessObjects InfoView and run
reports, first reset the password of each user.
Reset the password for multiple users at one time using the BusinessObjects
Central Administration capabilities (see page 22).
Access Levels and User Groups Within Business Objects
Access levels (ACLs) are required to support security. The following ACLs are
included in the BIAR files that are released as part of the CA Business
Intelligence:
■ ca-ppm-reportUserAdmin-ACL
■ ca-ppm-reportDesign-ACL
■ ca-ppm-reportRun-ACL
To run a report from CA Clarity PPM, a user must be assigned to at least one of
the following user groups. These groups are included in the BIAR files released as
part of the CA Business Intelligence:
■ CA-PPM-Reporting-Admin-User
This group provides the ability to perform administrative functions and all
designer user rights. Security is set in the new ACL
ca-ppm-reportUserAdmin-ACL.
■ CA-PPM-Reporting-Designer-User
This group lets users modify and build reports and allows Universe Access for
ad-hoc Web Intelligence reports. Security is set in the new ACL
ca-ppm-reportDesign-ACL.
■ CA-PPM-Reporting-User
This provides the ability to run pre-built reports. Security is set in the new
ACL ca-ppm-reportRun-ACL.
Note: See the Administration Guide for more information.

18 Change Impact and Upgrade Guide
Customers with a Pre-existing BusinessObjects Environment
CA Clarity PPM customers are entitled to use the SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise
product that is provided with CA products and subject to the terms of CA
Technologies’s agreement with the customer. If you want to leverage a
pre-existing BusinessObjects environment, discuss the environment setup with
SAP. This question is governed by the customer’s license agreement with
BusinessObjects, and not the CA Products license agreement.
The customer’s preexisting SAP BusinessObjects environment must be the same
SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise version that is supported by the installed CA
product version.
Note: See the Product Architecture Stack (PAS) for more information.
LDAP Support
CA Clarity PPM v12.1 lets you configure LDAP support between CA Clarity PPM
and other CA Technologies software applications with the BusinessObjects
server.
See the Installation Guide for more information on how to set up LDAP.
Upgrade action: If you have not set up LDAP or if you want to sync up the
non-LDAP users, run the job Create BusinessObjects Users after the upgrade.
This job syncs the user lists in BusinessObjects and CA Clarity PPM. If the job is
not run, CA Clarity PPM users cannot run or open a report unless a
BusinessObjects account has been created for the user.
Reports
Chapter 3: Reporting Changes Introduced for BusinessObjects 19
Reports Usage Notes
Note the following about upgrading existing reports:
■ The security for reports is now linked to the new stock Business Objects
universes for Clarity. Custom reports created before v12.1 that are not
converted to the new universes will not be secure when accessed through
Infoview. A user with login rights to Infoview can run a custom report from
within InfoView even if the user does not have rights in CA Clarity PPM.
Note: For customers with the Federal PPM Earned Value Manager add-in,
reports delivered with this add-in do not use the new stock universes and
were not converted to use the new security model. These reports work as
they have in previous CA Clarity PPM releases.
■ Due to an issue with BusinessObjects, previously created instances for
upgraded Crystal reports do not show snapshot data. A Crystal report
instance that ran before the upgrade can open in CA Clarity PPM, but the
report instance shows current data rather than the original report instance
data.
Upgrade action: Before upgrade, export all reports to PDF to retain
snapshot data.
■ No stock reports were added or removed from this release.
Upgrade to CA Business Intelligence r3 with Enhanced Security
20 Change Impact and Upgrade Guide
Upgrade to CA Business Intelligence r3 with Enhanced
Security
The following provide the basic steps to upgrade from CA Business Intelligence
r2.1 to CA Business Intelligence r3 and take advantage of enhanced security
features and CA Clarity PPM v12.1 improvements.
Note: These upgrade steps assume that the BusinessObjects server is used only
by CA Clarity PPM. If the BusinessObjects server is used by other products,
install CA Business Intelligence r3 on a new server.
1. Create a back-up of the CA Business Intelligence r2.1 instance. Including a
back-up of the CMS database and a back-up of the following components to
a BIAR file, such as custom .BIAR:
■ Report definitions
■ Report instances
■ Users and groups
■ Stock and custom universes
■ Custom reports (RPT or Web Intelligence)
■ Any custom information you created
2. Uninstall CA Business Intelligence r2.1 and delete the folder completely.
3. Install CA Business Intelligence r3.
Note: See the Installation Guide, "How to Install Business Objects
Software," for detailed steps.
4. Do the following only if you want to import your custom reports to CA
Business Intelligence r3:
a. Import only the following components:
– Custom reports (RPT or web intelligence)
– Custom Universe
– Custom Connection Objects from your backup BIAR file, such as
custom.BIAR.
b. Assign user security privileges to custom Universes and custom
Connections Objects. For example, CA-PPM-Reporting-User.
Note: See the Administration Guide for more information.
Upgrade to CA Business Intelligence r3 with Enhanced Security
Chapter 3: Reporting Changes Introduced for BusinessObjects 21
c. If you have any custom reports that use an existing CA Clarity universe,
open up each report in Crystal Report Designer and save them.
This step refreshes the reports with the CA Clarity universe and its
enhanced security.
Note: See the knowledge base article, "Enabling CA Clarity PPM v12.1
Security Features in Custom Universes and Custom Crystal Reports", on
http://support.ca.com for instructions on how to use security features in
custom universes and custom crystal reports that use stored
procedures. Search on the keyword TEC530207 to find the article.
d. Modify custom items as needed to account for data model changes in this
release.
Make adjustments for any data model changes in CA Clarity PPM to help
ensure that the custom items work well with CA Business Intelligence r3.
Note: See the Technical Reference Guide for information about
additions, deletions, or updates to the data model.
5. Manually reschedule any reports that were previously scheduled to run.
Reports whose schedules were set up before the upgrade will not start run
after the upgrade to CA Clarity PPM v12.1.
Reset the Password for Multiple Users
22 Change Impact and Upgrade Guide
Reset the Password for Multiple Users
To reset the password for multiple users
1. Log into the BusinessObjects Central Management Console (CMC) as an
administrator.
2. Navigate to Users and Groups and click User List.
3. Use Control-Select to select a group of users, then right-click and select
Account Manager.
The following figure shows multiple users who have been selected.
Reset the Password for Multiple Users
Chapter 3: Reporting Changes Introduced for BusinessObjects 23
The Account Manager page appears when you click the Account Manager
option.
4. Select the Change User Passwords to New Value check box, enter the new
password and select the appropriate password options.
5. Save your changes.
By default, CA Clarity PPM users are not added to the Report run group within
BusinessObjects. An administrator is expected to add all CA Clarity PPM users to
the CA-PPM-Reporting-User group. If additional levels of access to specific users
are required, then add users manually into the new BusinessObjects security
groups in CA Clarity PPM. For example, you want to give additional
administrative authority to modify the definition of a universe.
You can also make a copy of existing groups and modify them to suit your
specific security requirements.
Best Practice: Do not modify the security groups provided within
BusinessObjects directly because they can be overwritten during a subsequent
CA Clarity PPM upgrade.
Chapter 4: Add-ins 25
Chapter 4: Add-ins
During the v12.1 upgrade process, previously installed add-ins are also
migrated. However, to make the Business Objects reports work properly, you
must install the add-ins certified on v12.1.
Pre-Upgrade action: Check for file not found error messages for either the
contentPacks.xml and contentDescriptor.xml files in the admin.log file. Do one
of the following:
■ If the error message appears in the log file, download and install the
v12.1-compatible versions for each add-in that you have installed on your
system. Upgrade all of your add-ins using the v12.1-compatible add-in
version.
■ If the error message does not appear in the log file, download and install only
the v12.1-compatible add-in versions which contain reports. The following
add-ins contain new reports:
■ PMO Accelerator
■ CA Clarity PPM Accelerator for the PMBOK Guide
■ CA Clarity Grants Manager
Upgrade action: Download and install the add-ins certified on v12.1 which
contain new reports. During the installation, if you have modified existing Studio
views, filters, and portlets, these items are not installed automatically. Review
the changes and decide which modified views, filters, and portlets to apply.
Modified items have a status of “Upgrade Ready” on the Add-In Details page. You
can access this page from the Add-Ins menu option in the Administration Tool.
See the product guide associated with your specific add-in for installation
instructions and for recommendations to apply updated Studio views.
Post-Upgrade action: If you experience errors resulting from broken links or
system errors on add-in portlets, reinstall the add-ins using the
v12.1-compatible version.
See the CA Clarity PPM v12.1 Release Notes for a list of compatible add-ins.
