Following introduction of the new c2 designed "Hearts & Minds" contact centre concept for Barclays retail and business banking division, c2 were appointed to implement the concept at the bank's Wavertree site. The refurbished contact centre accommodates 1300 staff and provides improved team communication and management flexibility. c2 have also worked with Barclays retail bank team to include the new virtual branch concept within the building's reception area. To assist Barclays in the provision of a leading edge contact centre environment, c2 took an alternative approach to the lighting design at the Wavertree site. By maximising the ceiling heights within the existing frame, the design provides integrated low glare ambient lighting, which is also low energy and therefore a more efficient solution for a contact centre of this size.

In advance of the London 2012 Olympics, Heineken decided to bring together all of its sales & marketing teams from separate southern offices into one central London site. c2’s brief was to provide a flexible working facility with state of the art presentation and meeting rooms. The headquarters occupy two floors within an existing building located near to Oxford Street in the heart of London’s west end. Our design included a new internal feature stair case to connect the main reception and bar space with the upper workspace. Working with Heineken’s staff, we developed the design brief to include reclaimed materials used in the brewing process, such as polished copper and aged oak, and heavy emphasis was placed on the use of Heineken brands within the design through the use of wall graphics, glass and lighting.

c2 were invited to pitch competitively for the design of insurance provider Homeserve's new headquarters call centre in a former industrial unit in Walsall. The creation of a space utilisation study and 3D visuals, coupled with client involvement lead to our successful appointment and the new 620 seater call centre was designed using the firms corporate brand in a subtle yet inspiring way. c2's design doubled the capacity at the site by maximising use of the existing floor plate and incorporating a new upper floor. Our success on this initial project lead to a number of additional works for this client across their sites ranging from space planning and team configuration through to office design and management. Our relationship is on-going and reactive to the client's ever changing needs, across the main campus buildings in Walsall.
