cier and is one of Princess’ ports of call. The town was once accessible only by boat or via a war-era railway tunnel. The expanded tunnel is now the lon-gest highway and combined rail and highway use tunnel in North America.

We set sail on our Alaska cruise and spend seven unforgettable days aboard the ex-quisite SAPPHIRE PRINCESS, cruis-ing the fabled INSIDE PASSAGE and Alaska’s dramatic coast. Enhance your experience with a variety of optional shore excursions in every port such as an unforgettable helicopter tour where you can stand on a glacier!

On your cruise, you will see HUBBARD GLACIER, the longest tidewater glacier in Alaska extending 76 miles from its source on Mt. Logan in the Yukon. As Hubbard advances, it creaks and groans as it moves and is a very actively calv-ing glacier. This makes for some excit-ing moments when the huge chunks of ice crash into the Bay.

Cruise through GLACIER BAY, a treasure trove of tidewater glaciers and scenic coastal islands that is Alaska at its best. The diverse land and seascape hosts a mosaic of plants, marine and land wildlife.

Stop in SKAGWAY, the gateway to the gold fields for the thousands who flocked to Alaska and the Yu-kon with the hope of striking it rich. Today, Skagway has less than 1000 residents but still retains the fla-vor of the gold rush era.

Perched on a thin strip of land, below steep mountains sits JUNEAU. Atop the mountains is the JUNEAU ICEFIELD, a large ice mass from which 30 glaciers flow. The city of Juneau is larger in area than the state

of Delaware and for many years was the country’s largest city by area.

The southern-most Alaskan port of call, KETCHIKAN, is known as Alaska’s “First City” because it is the first major commu-nity travelers come to as they travel north.

Beginning as an Indian fishing camp, the gold rush brought fishing and timber indus-

tries to the area. It is built on steep hillsides and is billed as the salmon capital of the world. A quaint vil-lage, the town is three miles long and just three blocks wide. The world’s oldest collection of totem poles is

found at the Totem Heritage Center.

Finish your cruise in VANCOUVER, Brit-ish Columbia. Surrounded by ocean, with impressive mountains immediately to the north, Vancouver is a shiny, modern North American metropolis. Our ship will be

docking right next to the famous CANADA PLACE, and then we usually enjoy a bus ride

through the city on the way to the airport.

Passport Required!A passport will be required for this trip. Please ensure that it is valid for six months past the comple-tion of your trip.

Shore ExcursionsWe encourage you to book your shore excursions in advance to avoid standing in line on your vacation. Optional shore excursions are not included in the price.

Mt. McKinley - 1 NightTravel by motorcoach to the Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge awaits you this morning. The Lodge is located on the south side of Denali Park. You can choose from a variety of optional excursions or just relax at the lodge.

From the moment you arrive at Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge you know you are somewhere special. Bordering the south side of Denali National Park on the banks of the Chulitna River, this Lodge is a true wilderness retreat. In the main lodge, there is a room so spectacular it has been named, “The Great Room.” An irresistible haven with an impressive stone fireplace, “The Great Room” features cozy sitting areas, tables for card and board games, and enormous floor-to-ceiling windows that look out upon majestic Mt. McKinley and the Alaska Range. It has one of the most inspirational views of The Mountain found anywhere.

Anchorage (Whittier) - 1 Night/EmbarkationAnchorage is the largest city in the state of Alaska, comprising more than two-fifths of the state’s population. Anchorage was founded in 1915 and named after a place where a ship lies at anchor. Its unofficial nickname is “The City of Lights and Flowers”, refer-ring to its thousands of buildings outlined and adorned by tiny white lights throughout winter and its spectacular displays of flowers in the summer. Aviation buffs refer to the city by its former official slogan, the “Air Crossroads of the World”, because of its geographi-cal location between the two northern continents and its strategic location in the realm of worldwide shipping and transportation. After an evening and overnight stay in one of Anchorage’s fabulous downtown hotels, we will travel on to Whittier where we board the ship for our cruise.

Whittier lies 75 miles southeast of Anchorage. Nestled at the base of the Chugach Mountains, Whittier is the gateway to spectacu-lar Prince William Sound. Surrounded by snow capped peaks, Whittier sits near an impressive glacier and is one of Princess’ newest ports of call. The town was once accessible only by boat or via a war-era railway tunnel. Recently, the Anton Anderson Memo-rial Tunnel was enhanced to accommodate highway traffic as well as rail. This tunnel is now the longest highway tunnel in North America at a staggering two and a half miles. We set sail on our Alaska cruise from Whittier this evening.

Now it’s time to relax and enjoy 7 unforgettable days aboard the exquisite Sapphire

Princess, cruising the fabled Inside Passage and Alaska’s dramatic coast. Enhance your experience with a variety of optional shore

excursions in every port such as an unforgettable helicopter tour where you can actually stand on a glacier!

HUBBARD GLACIER(Scenic Cruising)

Hubbard Glacier is the longest tidewater glacier in Alaska extending 76 miles from its source on Mt. Logan in the Yukon. The cliff face you sail along is over six miles wide, 300 to 400 feet from the top to sea level and 300 feet from sea level to the bottom. As Hubbard is advancing, it creaks and groans as it moves and is a very actively calving glacier. This makes for some exciting moments when the huge chunks of ice crash into the Bay creating a wonderful sound called ‘white thunder.’

GLACIER BAY(Scenic Cruising)

This treasure trove of tidewater glaciers and scenic coastal islands is Alaska at its best. Glacier Bay’s wildlife spectacles are as glorious as the scenery, with Steller sea lions congregated on rocky islands, Dall’s porpoises feeding along the shores, bald eagles peering down from giant cedar snags at water’s edge, and humpback whales and orcas gliding in the turquoise waters.

SkagwayBoasting one of the oldest narrow-gauge railroads in existence, Skagway lies at the head of Lynn Canal. This “Gateway to the Klondike” watched as count-less fortune-seekers passed on its streets as they headed to the Chilkoot and White Pass Trails during the days of Alaska’s Gold Rush. Today, you can still feel like a prospector in Skagway, as you walk along its rustic boardwalks and frontier-style storefronts. With only 750 residents, Skagway offers a pleasant respite from the hustle and bustle of most cities. The weather is much different, and drier, here compared to the rest of southeastern Alaska, as it gets an average of just 22 inches of precipitation each year.

JuneauPerched on a thin strip of land at the mouth of Gold Creek, Juneau is arguably one of America’s most beautiful state capitals, with the looming summits of Mt. Juneau and Mt. Roberts providing a gor-geous backdrop. Once an integral part of Alaska’s Gold Rush, the city now boasts a mixture of natural and man-made attractions. Often hailed as Juneau’s most impressive sight, nearby Mendenhall Glacier is approximately 12 miles long and 1.5 miles wide. You can see the glacier on a float trip or a “flight seeing” adventure, or hike up one of its trails for a closer inspection.

KetchikanThis southern-most Alaskan port of call is known as “Alaska’s First City” because it is the first major community travelers come to as they travel north. Founded as a fishing camp, Ketchikan is built on steep hillsides and is billed as the salmon capital of the world. A quaint village, the town is just three miles long and three blocks wide. With the world’s largest collection of totem poles, Totem Bight State Historical Park offers insight into various native cultures of the Pacific Northwest. Much of the history of people like the Tlingit, Haida and Tsimshian is not entirely known, but some of the elaborate poles help convey their stories. In the absence of written language, these wood-carved creations tell colorful, intricate tales, often showing a family’s history or depicting a local legend.

Many shore excursions are available to you at

each port stop(not included in the tour price)

Surrounded by ocean, with impressive mountains immediately to the north, Vancouver is a shiny, modern North American metropolis infused with a Pacific flavor. It's also the perfect jumping-off point for exploring British Columbia's beautiful wilder-ness. Our ship will be docking right next to the famous Canada Place, and then we usually enjoy a bus ride through the city on the way to the airport.
