Forty-four year old Dean Kelly Mor-rison went missing on Tuesday, october22, 2013, from Stump Lake Ranch andhas not been seenor heard from inover two years.
now, a friendTimothy waters andDean’s mother Eliz-abeth Faber have setup a GoFundMepage to try to raise the money to hire a pri-vate investigator to make inquiries intoDean’s disappearance. Dean was a house painter by trade buthis passion was in politics. He was amember of the new Democratic Partyand a candidate for two elections in theLangley area: the BC general election in2005, and the Canadian federal election in2004. Dean is greatly missed by hismother, Elizabeth Faber, his three childrenPaz, Ani and Edie Morrison-Rainville, andmany other family members and friends.
Searches were done at the time of hisdisappearance, but there were certainareas that the searchers were not allowedto enter to look for Dean. in the near fu-ture, once the weather warms up and thesnow is gone, another search for Deanwill be arranged, and then hopefully —if they’ve met the financial goal, organiz-ers will be able to get the private investi-gator involved. Day Scholars classaction lawsuit
The opt-in period is over now, for theTk’emlúps te Secwépemc and shíshálhindian Bands’ Day Scholars Class Actionlawsuit; and it seems to have strong sup-port across the country. 94 separatebands have come forward to be includedin the lawsuit representing everyprovince where an indian ResidentialSchool was located.
Launched in 2012, the Day ScholarsClass Action lawsuit seeks compensationon behalf of all Aboriginal Canadianswho attended an indian ResidentialSchool, but who did not sleep there. Thetwo Bands also seek declarations regard-ing Canada’s role in the failure to protectAboriginal language and culture, andlooks for compensation for the childrenof survivors, and the bands to which sur-vivors belong.
This lawsuit aims to rebalance the ex-clusion of those who did not sleep at theschools from the Residential School com-pensation.

The Case of the Missing Cow A big city lawyer was called in on a case between a farmer and a large railroad
company. The farmer noticed that his prize cow was missing from the field through which the railroad
passed. He filed suit against the railroad company for the value of the cow. The case was to be tried before
the Justice of the Peace in the back room of the General Store. The attorney immediately cornered the
farmer and tried to get him to settle out of court. The lawyer did his best selling job, and the farmer finally
agreed to take half of what he was claiming to settle the case. After the farmer signed the release and took
the check, the young lawyer couldn't help but gloat a little over his success. He said to the farmer, "You
know, I hate to tell you this but I put one over on you in there. I couldn't have won the case. The engineer
was asleep and the fireman was in the caboose when the train went through your farm that morning. I
didn't have one witness to put on the stand." The old farmer replied, "Well, I'll tell you, young feller, I was
a little worried about winning that case myself because that durned cow came home this morning!"
