We as a nation,
must work
together to
ensure that not
just women, but
also men are
treated well in
every field. The
discriminations
must be left
behind in order
to form a nation
full of its
citizens as a
whole and not
just the “men”
or the “women”
individually.

bad, good as today’s media is continuously showing women capa-
ble of supporting themselves and their family and bad in terms of
“item numbers”-this was the answer to question asked by one of
the audience member. Dr.Rajiv Mehta laid focus on human psy-
chology ,how simple act of mutual understanding and apprecia-
tion of work that our women folks do can bring about a huge dif-
ference. Ms.Nayana Sahasrabudhe emphasized the fact that finan-

CCW launched its first Skill Development Centre at Mohan Garden, Uttam Nagar on 27 February
2015. 30 semi skilled and unskilled women have enrolled themselves for this course. These women
are being trained in machine knitting . After completion of the training, these women would start
producing baby sweaters for sold in the market. This is the first initiative of CCW to empower wom-
en through means of skill development and employment creation. We hope that we succeed in our
continued effort to empower women with the requisite competence to sustain in the society.
CCW successfully launched its Women Cab Drivers Project on 8th
March , 2015. It was launched by Smt.Lalitha kumaramangalam on
our 3rd annual day. We aim:
To create a stream of women drivers trained professionally.
To create livelihood opportunities for the women belonging
to weaker sections of the society.
To ensure the safety of working women with special focus on
women working in late night shifts.
There is no tool for Development more effective than the
Empowerment of Women.
CCW touched a new milestone by setting up the first stall of the “Jagruti
Self Help Group.” In collaboration with Bhartiya Mahila Bank, we set up a
stall of food products manufactured by members of our SHG Jagruti for sale
at Dilli Haat, Janakpuri from 8-15 March, 2015. The members of our SHG
manufacture Sambhar powder, Amla Candies, Diet Mix, etc. Different vol-
unteers volunteered to take care of the stall every day. We are glad out
first SHG venture was a success, and aim to have a permanent stall by end
of this year.

Parvinder Singh is currently working in the Customer Relation-
ship department of Costa Coffee. But this job did not come to him
easily. Born in a humble family, he never had the privilege to study
in a English Medium Public School. He completed his school but
wasn't doing anything which could bring him any monetary sup-
port. Parvinder, one day, got to know about Chetana, Conscience of
Women, an NGO working towards empowerment of women, and
for making this society a better place to live in.CCW in collaboration
with Times of India's Teach India was starting its another batch of
Spoken English classes. He enrolled in the classes, and attended the 100 days Spoken English session
which took place at CCW's office. After the 100 days session, He also participated in Times of India
Job Fair and got selected in Costa Coffee. His life changed, he became confident about himself, he was
employed and he could fluently communicate in English Now, when someone helped him change his
life, he wanted to make a difference in other's life as well. He started volunteering with CCW. One day
as part of CCW's Gender Sensitization project he visited Paharganj's Sarvaodya Boys School, This
school is notorious for having students who cause chaos in the area near the New Delhi railway sta-
tion. He wanted to do something for the school, and selected a bunch 15 students from the school
and started teaching them Singing , Tabla and Harmonium for free. These students are ambitious in
their lives, some of them want to take up music as a profession now.
They idolize Parvinder. After the success of the first batch, he will start
with the second batch of Music classes commencing from 20 April
2015. He has been playing Tabla and Harmonium in a Gurudwara from
past 4 years. He has formed a group of 8-10 boys and girls who play
Sufi songs in the Gurudwara and other events. He is the founder and
the binding chord of this group. He doesn't get anything in return for
changing other's lives, he does it from his heart. He does it because
someone was there when he was in need, now he wants to give it back
to the society. He is an epitome of kindness, his story inspires many.
