While we have a strong relationship with Empower Youth, we are now separating those funds from our 3C bookkeeping. We will still collect checks to Empower
Youth through our offering or Connection Counter, or if you give cash, please write Empower Youth on the
envelopes at our Connection Counter. We will be sure to forward your gifts to Lori Conley. You can also donate
directly through their website. Empower Youth is a 501c3
organization created to identify and meet the needs of youth living in poverty or on the edge of poverty in southern OH .
This group is also collecting new pillows for their Dream Big! project. They will be given to children
in the Bethel, Hamersville and Felicity schools. You can drop them off in the Kids Kove area.

A Note From Our Finance Team:
People give financially to the church for different reasons. Some give out of what they perceive as an obligation to give back to God. Some give perhaps based on some level of guilt or as a means of “paying for their sins.” Still, others give from an overflow of the blessings they sense that God has provided for them. The list of reasons can be extensive. People who don’t support the church financially have an equally long list of reasons why they do not take part in the weekly offering.
In the New Testament Jesus spoke more about finances than heaven, hell or even prayer. Why would Jesus focus on the material more so than what might be considered spiritual? Because God knew we would struggle with the issue of
money. We are called to be good stewards of the blessings God has entrusted to us. Jesus makes this point clearly when he tells us, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” in Matthew 6:21. He reminds us that our priorities will be demonstrated by our wallets and checkbooks.
Last fall the church body approved a budget for 2015 of approximately $392,000 for operating expenses and ministry efforts. As of the end of June 2015, we had a projected income of approximately $192,000. However, the actual offerings so far during the same period were approximately $169,000 creating a deficit of nearly $25,000. Fortunately, our staff and ministry team leaders have done a good job of curtailing expenses so we’ve only spent about $167,000 as of the end of June. It might make you wonder, what didn’t get done that could have or should have for that extra $25,000? How many lives might have been changed, cared for or connected with for Christ based on that shortage? We may never know those answers.
We can tell you that through the generosity of those who support the ministry of 3C we were able to help send 81 kids to summer camp [Woodland Lakes, KidJam, CIY]. We were able to send two different mission teams to assist in changing lives at a children’s ranch in Mississippi, and to provide much needed medical care and encouragement along the Amazon River. Closer to home, we continue to assist families in the local community with food assistance and other emergency needs. We’ve also been able to celebrate 23 lives being given to Christ through baptism. All of these efforts, and many more, are done in the name of Christ as we share His love and mercy wherever we are called to serve.
If you’ve been a part of making these things happen financially, we thank you. We ask that you continue to support the ministry of Community Christian Church. If you’ve not been a part of this work monetarily up to this point, it’s not too late to join in . Our staff and leadership team have more work to do impacting lives for Christ in Tate Township, across the country, and around the world. We hope you will take the opportunity to lay this ministry upon your heart and then let your treasure follow. It will be one of the greatest blessings you ever get to experience! Please continue to keep our efforts, staff, and leadership in prayer as well.
