A Bit of History....

The earliest deed from 1783 shows William Thompson purchasing 137 acres from John Bowen. In 1836 John Frazer bought the land and is presumed to have built the 2½ story farmhouse – naming the property The Hermitage.

Subsequent owners added acres and in 1915 John Willis developed the property into a large dairy operation. In 1942 Peter and Elizabeth Zeitler acquired the 500+ acres and became well-known for their Golden Guernsey herd. The Zeitler family continued to farm the land until the mid-1990s.

The Promenade runs from east to west with convenient benches along the varied stone and brick walkway.

Fun Playground

Children are sure to love the new playgrounds installed at Glasgow Park. They can run, climb, swing and slide to their heart’s content on the brightly-colored play equipment. Parents can keep an eye on the fun from shaded benches nearby.
