What is Chemical Energy?Chemical Energy is

energy that is stored in some kind of chemical substance.

The energy is released when these substances mix together to cause a chemical reaction.

Example 1When you burn wood, the molecules in the

wood are destroyed.This creates energy in the form of heat and

light.

Example 2Plants use light from the sun for the process

of photosynthesis.This process allows plants to store chemical

energy.

Example 3Food is another

example of chemical energy.

When we digest food, the molecules break down into smaller pieces, which gives our bodies energy.
