• The louvre built on Paris western edge the museum structure was engulfed as the city of Paris grew

• During the reign of Philippe Aguste the power and influence of the French monarchy grew considerably they built the louvre as a fortress against Anglo-Norman threat

• The demolition of the Tuileries in 1882 marked the birth of the modern louvre

• The museums holdings in Islamic art were originally scattered through the rooms the collection was enriched in 1912

This portrait of Louise xiv was commissioned as a gift for Philip v of Spain but it was never sent to Spain because every detail in this artwork shows power and nobility

The louvre holds one of the most extensive art collection in the world including perhaps the most recognized painting in the world the Mona Lisa by Leonardo among others

THE REGENT DIAMOND

• A 140.64 carat diamond owned by the French state it was first found by a slave in India after a English sea captain stole it and killed the slave it is now in exhibit in the louvre

REFLECTION

I chose to do a PowerPoint for this museum in is because one the most famous and visited in the world holding a lot of famous paintings by famous painters including the Mona Lisa and many others not only do they hold artworks put famous jewelry as well.
