Description They the penguin are almost the

smallest penguin. They weigh 10 pounds and they stand 30 to 50 centimeters. Their feathers are black and white and looks like their wearing a tuxedo.

Habitat

Adelie penguins can be found all across the Antarctic and on the surrounding coastal islands. During the winter the penguins live offshore in the sea. They build their nests out of small stones. The penguin lives there because it cant live in the heat.

Adaptations

October is breeding season for the Adelies. During this time thousands of Adelie penguins gather in colonies on the rocky coasts. Adelie penguins generally have two eggs, and both parents take turns sitting on them.

What it eats.

These penguins are carnivores with a wide diet that includes krill, fish, and squid. Efficient swimmers, the Adelies are capable of diving up to 575 feet for their food.

The Adelie penguin gets killed by many things and keeps them alive. It also eats other things that keeps them alive.

The french explorer Admiral Durmont D’urville named the Adelie penguin after his wife.
