PVC+THE ALTERNATIVE SECURITY CARD
In the global market, PVC has since long proven its value as a core
material of many banking and loyalty program cards. While it offers
great ease of use and compatibility with most standard security features
at an attractive cost, its durability has been a major obstacle in being
selected for more demanding applications. Agfa and Bilcare have co-
developed card constructions that combine the benefits of PVC with the
durability properties of PETix PETF overlay films. One of these designs not
only preserves the beneficial properties of each individual component
but offers on-top security performance thanks to Agfa's PETix Silver
Laser Personalisation (PETix SLP). With these innovative combinations
of materials, Bilcare and Agfa present the market with a cost-effective
alternative for high-security applications such as ID-cards.

Card construction and processing
From processing perspective the new PVC/PETF card construction
represents a genuine drop-in solution for card manufacturers: existing
equipment and lamination temperatures can be used for standard
output speed. The card is also compatible with standard security
features.
