History Before 1498, Venezuela was inhabited by several tribes,
than stupid Christopher Columbus came 1535: Spain colonizes Venezuela July 5th, 1811: Venezuela declares independence from Spain 1831: General Jose Antonio Paez became the first president 1800’s: Venezuela torn by a civil war 1950: Marcos Perez Jimenez becomes dictator 1999: Venezuela accepts today’s constitution
3 Animals Giant Armadillo- It’s average length is 35 inches. 2/5 is the tail length.
Brown hairy dwarf porcupine- Natural habitat is the sub-tropical or tropical moist lowland forests.
Northern Ghost Bat- It is rare and completely white. Often found infected with rabies.

Angel Falls: Also known as Kerepakupai Meru. It’s water’s free-fall for .6 mile it makes it the world’s highest waterfall.

means “ The Great Savanna” in Spanish. It is 870 miles from Caracas and the tallest point (Mount Roraima) serves as a triple border point (Venezuela, Brazil, and Guyana).

There are 4 regions: Maracaibo lowlands, the northern
mountains, Orinoco plains, and the Guiana highlands.

Arepa- a cornmeal cake that can be grilled, baked or fried. The inside is filled with meat and cheese.
Casabe- a type of bread, considered to be the oldest bread in the Americas. Often eaten at every meal, Venezuelans eat more than 30,000 kg each year.
