WHY WOOLROOM?

For thousands of years wool has comforted us; cooled us in the summer, and warmed us in winter. It is one of nature’s treasures, a natural material that breathes with your body.

Creating something that looks elegant is only half of our goal. We wanted to create a luxurious range that not only looked beautiful, but truly was beautiful from conception to delivery. A range that is made, wherever possible, with wool from British farms, with mattresses and beds hand-crafted by experts in this country, with fabrics woven by some of the oldest, proudest names in British design.Everything we do is locally sourced wherever possible, using natural materials, to create an experience that feels as luxurious and satisfying as it looks. We wanted to create something that put a smile on your face.

THE MAGICAL NATURAL POWERS OF WOOL25% MORE REGENERATIVE SLEEPWool naturally regulates temperature by “absorbing” moisture and humidity at night and then “desorbing” into the atmosphere during the day. Did you know that wool can absorb 30% of its weight in water before becoming saturated? (polyester achieves less than 1%, down and feather 5% and cotton only 10%). It is this natural absorption of moisture that prevents one from overheating, as heat travels 26 times faster on humid air than dry air and will help deliver 25% deeper, more regenerative sleep.

CLASSIC Our Classic range of duvets are an introduction to a natural, healthy night’s sleep. Because every duvet is made from 100% British wool, you know that it is naturally hypoallergenic, and has no man-made barriers. This means that it lets your body breathe as you sleep.

DELUXE Our Deluxe range uses wool from Downs Breeds that are hand-selected and have full farm provenance. These breeds include Suffolk, Southdown, Hampshire, Oxford and Texel. The outer cover is a high thread count cotton poplin, and the duvets are machine washable.

LUXURYOur Luxury duvets are a blend of 50% certified organic British Wool, and 50% British Alpaca fibres, enveloped in a 300 thread count organic satin cotton. The British Alpaca is beautifully fine and soft, whilst sharing the same properties as traditional wool when it comes to managing moisture and heat.

DELUXE Our Deluxe wool pillow is filled with 100% hand-selected machine washable British Wool from Downs Breeds, and is covered with a 100% high thread cotton outer. Every Deluxe pillow is fully adjustable, allowing you to add or remove wool ball filling to find that depth that suits your sleeping position. Extra wool filling is available separately.
