Week 4: Day 1 ELA/Reading/Science Phonics: Students will identify words with the long /a/ sound. (a_e) Reading: Students will read the All About Magnets passage 3 times. (Color in a smiley face at the end of each read.) Students will then answer comprehension questions at the bottom. Math: Module 5 Lesson 1 (Practice Pages 1 & 2, Parent Support for Distance Learning pages 123-125) Students will classify shapes based on defining attributes using examples. Week 4: Day 2 ELA/Reading/Social Studies Phonics: Students will complete sentences using long a words and identify other long /a/ words. (ai) Reading: Students will read the Thomas Jefferson reading passage 3 times. Student will then answer the comprehension questions on the following pages. Math: Module 5 Lesson 2 (Template pg. 12/Practice pages 8-9 & Parent Support for Distance Learning pg. 129) Students will find and name 2-dimensional shapes. Parents please read the directions to your student. Allow him/her to complete as much as possible independently. Week 4: Day 3 ELA/Reading Phonics: Students will practice making short a and long a words. (a_e) Students will identify words with the long a sound. (a_e, ai) Reading: Students will read the reading comprehension passage 3 times. Student will then answer the comprehension questions at the bottom of the page. Parents please read the directions to your student. Allow him/her to complete as much as possible independently. Math: Module 5 Lesson 3 (Template pg. 17/Practice pages 15-16 & Parent Support for Distance Learning pg. 133) Students will find and name 3-dimentional shapes. Week 4: Day 4 ELA/Reading/Social Studies Phonics: Students will complete sentences using long a words and identify other long /a/ words. (ai & ay) Reading: Students will read the The Declaration of Independence reading passage 3 times. Student will then answer the comprehension questions on the following pages. Math: Module 5 Lesson 4 (Extra Pattern Blocks page/Practice pages 20-21 & Parent Support for Distance Learning pg. 137) Students will create new shapes (composite shapes) from 2-dimentional shapes. Week 4: Day 5 ELA/Reading Phonics: Students will complete sentences using long a words and identify other long vowel words. Students will also complete the maze by following the long a words. Reading: Students will read the reading comprehension passage 3 times. Student will then answer the comprehension questions at the bottom of the page. Math: Module 5 Lesson 5 (Template: Tangram Shapes pg. 30/Practice pages 26-27 & Parent Support for Distance Learning pgs. 141-142) Students will create a new shape from composite shapes. Parents please read the directions to your student. Allow him/her to complete as much as possible independently.
