SECRETARY & ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT Perform routine clerical and administrative functions such as drafting correspondence, scheduling appointments, organizingand maintaining paper and electronic files, or providing information to callers.

TAX PREPARER Prepare tax returns for individuals or small businesses.

POLICE & SHERIFF'S PATROL OFFICER Maintain order and protect life and property by enforcing lawsand ordinances. Perform a combination of the following duties:patrol a specific area; direct traffic; issue traffic summonses; investigate accidents; apprehend and arrest suspects, or servelegal processes of courts.

CORRECTIONAL OFFICERGuard inmates in penal or rehabilitative institutions. May guardprisoners in transit between jail, courtroom, prison, or other point.Includes deputy sheriffs and police who spend the majority of their time guarding prisoners in correctional institutions.

SECURITY GUARD Guard, patrol, or monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules. May operate x-ray and metal detectorequipment.

TEACHER ASSISTANT Perform duties that are instructional in nature or deliver direct services to students or parents. Serve in a position for which ateacher has ultimate responsibility for the design and implementation of educational programs and services.

PRESCHOOL TEACHERInstruct preschool-aged children in activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth in preschool,day care center, or other child development facility.

General BusinessThe program will prepare you in the functional areasof business by incorporating techniques in planning,organizing, leading and controlling techniques. Youwill have the knowledge and skills needed to get ajob and succeed in the fast-paced business worldafter graduation. There are transfer agreementoptions for this program with Claflin University, TheCitadel and Columbia College. The following programs are available:• Associate Degree in Applied Science

Administrative Office TechnologyThe new role of administrative assistant is more than filing and answering the telephone.Administrative assistants are also in charge of maintaining the office's efficiency byorganizing meetings, tracking paper and electronic files, preparing research reports andoverseeing budgets. Employers are seeking out assistants with high potential and criticalthinking abilities. The following program is available:• Associate Degree in Applied Science – Major in Administrative Office Technology

Administrative Support You will be prepared for entry-level administrative positions in an office environment. You willacquire skills in keyboarding, computer applications, accounting, office systems, written andoral communications and teamwork.
