Security Today is morethan just Locking

Today, the standards set for modern IT – Infrastructure require a higher level of physical security and have driven the development forward from a purely mechanical handle to a mechatronic handle system.

In the area of electronic locking and monitoring, EMKA offers with its ”Electronic Locking & Monitoring“ (ELM) portfolio high-performance locking and sensor technology.

The product program is completed by extensive hardware and software solutions, allowing a comfortable control of all components

and the evaluation of recorded data up to complete rack manage-ment applications.

Agent E: Wireless Handle with Memory Function

Whether as a stand-alone version or network system – AGENT E is always the right choice. Due to its design, it is ideal for new instal-lations as well as for retrofit because of its suitability for various cut-outs and mechanical connections. This handle can be installed in minutes and is immediately ready for operation. Being battery ope-rated, no additional wiring is required! Opening is via personalised micro transmitter. An integrated event log saves all opening and closing procedures. Centralised monitoring, remote opening and parameterisation can be performed wireless via radio transmission.

A wide range of electromechanical locking solutions are available for server racks:

:: Releasable or pop out handles with or w/o emergency opening:: Handles with integrated keypad:: Designs for single or multi-point locks:: Universal latches for any type of housing

All locks are equipped with potential-free contacts for remote indication of handle locked/unlocked status. The locks are driven by a standard DC signal. In the idle state no energy is required.

100%Access Control

100%Monitoring

Operating conditions in the server cabinets are monitored through various sensors from the ELM product range. The measured values can thus be captured and processed:

:: Temperature, humidity and leakage sensor for climatic parameters:: Smoke and vandalism sensors for signalling the immediate risk:: Sensors for electrical parameters (current, voltage, power) to measure and optimise the energy consumption

Various components are available for a reliable access control:

:: Keypad with PIN Code:: Card reader for different RFID card systems (Legic©, HID):: GSM unit for remote opening via mobile phone:: Remote opening via network and software application

The combination of keypad with personal password and card reader allows a ”dual factor authentication“ for maximum security.

IT Infrastructure Management:Modular design to Suit anyRequirement

An infrastructure management system consists of a network compatible communications module as a central unit. Function modules are connected with standard patch cables and communi-cate via robust CAN bus to the central unit. Handles, locks, sensors or card readers are simply plugged into the modules with standard connectors.

Modular design and the standardised connectors ensure easy installation and fast commissioning. The required modules are installed in the cabinets as requested.

The decentralised structure lowers costs and reduces the necessary wiring costs. The functionality of the system can be extended and completed by adding additional modules at any time.

Rack Management:Compact and EasilyExpandable

The ELM Rack Management fulfils all requirements of an integrated rack monitoring system.

The EMKA 19“ - rack mount unit is the ideal starter package and includes several function modules: a communication module as the heart of the Rack Management System, a handle module for driving and monitoring eight door locks, a sensor module for four sensors and optionally a proximity module for access control via RFID card and a GSM module.

For temperature control 2 continuous control outputs are available to drive the fan speed and the air conditioning system with diffe-rent control strategies. The two-line display can be configured to customer specifics. All components are plugged in via standard connectors.

Additional function modules can be hooked up via CAN bus to extend capability of the starter package almost without limit.

ELM DataBase SoftwareCentral Multi System Management

Larger IT systems are often controlled by several different Rack Management systems. This can be necessary due to a large number of cabinets or cabinets being installed in different locations.

Such systems are often linked to higher-level control and mana-gement systems. In this case, central operation, control and configuration are of decisive importance.

The EMKA software package ELM-Data Base offers the perfect solution.

Technical Characteristics:

:: Proxy Server for up to 50 ELM Systems per workstation:: Database System (MSSQL):: Encrypted data transmission:: Bi-directional operation (Read from / Write into ELM Systems):: Standard Apps for configuration, operation and visualisation:: Administration of users and RFID cards:: Trend display of on-line or historical sensor data:: Recording and analysis of the events of all connected systems
