Top tips for starting a business
Synchro Fitness – Liz Fitzsimons
Top 3 tips for starting up: Two of us set up Synchro Fitness and we didn’t know each
other very well when we started our journey together. Early on we took time to understand each others strengths, weaknesses, drivers, demotivators and long term goals. That has helped us work together really well. You may be on your own but you can still do this. Find people to work with who believe in what you want to achieve, compliment your strengths and challenge you to stay on track.
Invest time in creating a solid business case that clearly explains what your business is about and where you want to get to. The thinking process behind creating this is just as important as the finished product. Enterprise First’s templates are a great starting point.
Before spending a lot of money on branding, your website and promotion, etc, use the Intellectual Property website to see if your brand can be trade marked and apply for that early on because it takes a while to come through.

Axby and Hirst – Louise Axby-Hirst
Top 3 tips for starting up: Flexibility: I love owning my own business as it gives me the
flexibility to choose my working hours and have time for the most important thing in the world to me.. My Family.
My dreams became my reality: It’s a great feeling to have a vision and accomplish something successful. There is this great pride and joy of building something on your own and thinking “I did that.”
Passion: I get to do something every day that I am passionate and excited about. Working on our Brand, new products and bespoke designs for clients and always pushing my business to be the best it can be.
