Subject: For Emily Perschbacher

Ms. Perschbacher,

Nationally, more than 121,000 people are waiting for a transplant. However, with more than 6 million participants, Illinois has one of the most successful state registries in the country. But our work is not done.

In an effort to increase donors and shine a light on the importance of organ donation, the Illinois Organ/Tissue Donor Program - Life Goes On will be revamping and revitalizing, in an effort to portray the message, “Why Not?” as opposed to “What If?” The “Why Not?” campaign will focus heavily on the positive outcomes of donation, as opposed to the negative affects of not finding a donor.

In an effort to do so, Life Goes On will introduce a new YouTube series within the “Why Not?” campaign to share stories of donation. Specifically, Life Goes On will highlight success stories where donation has saved an individual's life.

Actionably, from June 19th-23rd, Life Goes On will head into the city of Chicago and set up a booth each day at four different colleges in order to increase donorship. Specifically, we will be visiting DePaul University, Roosevelt University, Columbia College of Chicago and Robert Morris.

The Chicago Tribune has always been highly regarded as a vital source of news for Chicagoans, specifically in the health department and has a duty to keep Chicagoans informed. With a cause as important as ours, here is your opportunity to be the first source.

Thank you. I look forward to hearing from you.Cody Hooper

Illinois Life Goes On launches New “Why Not?” Campaign

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS- Beginning in the summer of 2017, Illinois Life Goes On will release its newest campaign, “Why Not?” The Illinois Donor/Tissue Registry - Life Goes On had always been known for its slogan, “What If?”. However, in an effort to share the more positive side of organ donation, Life Goes On will transform its marketing tactics. In June, Life Goes On will release a new YouTube series showing the world that anyone can help save a life. This series will uncover the unknown stories of how organ donors saved the lives of those in need.

Life goes On’s new series “Stories of Survivors” will take its viewers through the journey of receiving organ donations and the aftermath of recovery, lastly elaborating on how much the organ donations benefitted those receiving and what their lives would be like without the organ they received.

“Stories of Survivors” will be promoted on the redesigned Life Goes On website landing page, as well as on Youtube, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.

Learn more about how you can help the cause on our new landing http://www.lifegoeson.com, or any of our social media pages.
