introduction:

Having identified the needs of administrative development in Arab world, ARADO Business Plan (2012) was developed within the context of ongoing efforts to further develop ARADO role and activities according to its overall strategy and vision.

In light of the new orientation of ARADO, namely going global, adhering to quality standards, building networks with regional and international institutions to enhance ARADO’s institutional and informational capabilities with a view to responding to emerging issues, ARADO continues to follow its currentstrategy on renewal and modernization of activities and events, both in content and format, using innovative techniques that would contribute to disseminating knowledge to its audience, based on the following:

i - this plan, which responds to the strategic strands of ArAdo’s work and modalities, serves the following objectives:

1.  Support institutional, administrative and organizational capabilities to serve the Arab Free Trade Area (AFTA), trade points, and inter-Arab economic integration and cooperation.

2.  support capabilities, approaches, plans and programs of administrative reform in Arab countries, so that they may enhance government performance and strengthen economic reform and development performance.

3.  support capabilities of administrative development and education institutions and bodies in Arab countries.

4.  supporting capabilities of economic, development and legal management to serve the strive for total development in Arab countries.

ii - the plan includes a wide range of innovative activities that are well-targeted to each category of the following audience in a balanced way based on actual needs:

1.  Inter-Arab economic cooperation and integration institutions that serve AFTA and transit points;

2.  Ministries of Administrative Development / Administrative Reform/Civil Service;3.  Legal and economic management bodies and development governing strategic centers;4.  Institutions and schools of training and administrative development;5.  Administrative education and orientation institutions; 6.  Private sector institutions and independent bodies; and7.  Civic society organizations.

i- events to be organized in host country (egypt)

the new directions and framework of ArAdo 2012 plan have trans-lated into following events:

I.  Allocation of 58 activities as follows: 6 conferences, 6 seminars, 28 workshops and 17 gatherings

to be held in the Arab region Europ and the far east . It is expected that the number of activities will

increase as requested by Arab countries during the year.

II.  Holding a «Round Table Forum» under the title of «Management and Current Challenges» for

3 days during the period June 11-13, 2012 in Istanbul, Turkey for senior management, includ-

ing: Minister, Minister of State, Deputy Minister, State- level Minister, First Under-Secretary,

Under-Secretary and Director General to participate in discussion circles of the Forum.

III.  Holding 4 professional meetings and 4 gatherings on Successful Administrative Practices.

IV.  The plan also contains diploma and professional certificate programs regularly offered by

ARADO. They are as follows: 14 Specialized Diplomas, 10 Professional Certificates, 9

Specialized Certificates and 28 Short Targeted Training Programs.

V.  The Plan also contains 765 Special Training Programs targeting executive and managerial

levels of both private and public sectors. ARADO is keen to respond to all training needs in the

Arab world and to design programs accordingly.

VI.  The Plans includes around 500 programs on IT training to cover information security,

geographic information systems, networks, software and data bases.

VII.  The plan includes 47 training courses on library systems and information to train librarians,

mangers, specialists and other staff of information centers.

 ARADO insures that these shifts in the plan will serve the best interests of the Arab region in terms

of enhancing the performance, and honing the skills of, administrative leaders in the interest if

further development and innovation.

The Round Table Forum is considered as a professional meeting addressed in principle to serve higher leaders in the state in the position of (Minister – Minister of State – Deputy Minister- State-level Minister – First Under-Secretary – Under Secretary- Director General).

The forum aims to put administrative cases in front of qualified and experienced experts from the Arab world, abroad and international organizations to address these cases and finding solutions for them from their practical experience.
