SESSION 3 LEAN MANUFACTURING A company that is lean will have processes in place to produce to the takt time, create continuous flow wherever possible, right size equipment, disentangle value-streams, develop the ability to make ‘every part every day’ and more. In this session, Phil and Chris will outline the basic concepts and structure of lean manufacturing, what constitutes lean thinking, and how software can contribute to the objectives of lean manufacturing. SESSION 4 PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT AND KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs) An effective performance measurement system with the right metrics can help you drive on-going improvement by raising standards and expectations of superior performance while concurrently tracing problems back to the real root causes so they can be addressed. This session is about the components of an effective performance measurement system, how you can use specific measurements to drive improved performance, what to do and what not to do when designing a measurement program for your own company. The focus is on driving your supply network to be both leaner and more agile. SESSION 5 IMPLEMENTING INTEGRATED ENTERPRISE PLANNING A recent supply chain survey indicated that most companies are dis-satisfied with their S&OP process as well as their IT solution (email [email protected] for a copy). In this session, Chris and Phil will outline a proven approach to achieve success with both the S&OP process but also a new ERP system.
