Medical Coding and Billing

The program gives you coding and billing training that cannot be found in traditional texts or classrooms. You’ll find interactive learning tools, including the student forum and chat room, games, skill assessments, hundreds of exercises that simulate the professional coding experience, instantaneous feedback, and an online grade book, so you’ll be able to easily chart your progress.

The Medical Coding and Billing curriculum is designed to prepare you to pass AHIMA’s CCA certification exam and AAPC’s CPC and CPC-H certification exams.

Medical Transcription A recent survey of medical transcriptionists in the United States indicated that approximately 83% of all transcriptionists work from home. Medical Transcription

The structure for both programs is the same. They are divided into two courses (parts) that each take 17 weeks to complete. When you begin Part 1, you will have only 17 weeks to complete Part 1.

Students must complete Part 1 before they may enroll in Part 2. When you begin Part 2, you will have only 17 weeks to complete Part 2.

Therefore you will have about 4 months to complete the first part of the course and once you complete the first part of the course, then you will have about 4 months to complete the second part of the course.

All work is done online and the courses are self-paced and interactive.

Piedmont Community College offers non-credit online medical career programs. To offer you the best training possible, we have partnered with Career Step, a leader in medical career training. Currently, we offer two training programs, one in Medical Transcription and the other in Medical Coding and Billing. The total hours are 640 for each of the medical career programs. These are very intense programs requiring 25-30 hours of coursework a week.

This seminar was developed specifically to teach people the key and important things they need to be successful in starting a business.
