Business Casual Attire for Women
By Lindsey Tonthat
First Impressions First impressions are very
important, especially in a business meeting environment. Not only does arriving on time and the way you speak have an effect on people’s opinion about you, but also the way you present yourself.
Making sure that you dress appropriately is very important for meeting someone for the first time, whether it is for a business meeting or for an interview.
Neutral Colors
You want to keep the color of your clothing neutral when you are dressing business casual. Some neutral colors are grey, brown, navy, black, and khaki.
Wearing bold colors can be a distraction. Also stay away from crazy prints and designs on clothing. Try to keep it simple.
Dress According To Your Work Industry
Different work industries have different dress codes and you should dress according to their dress type. For instance, if you are working as a cashier, you
would not come to work in a suit. Instead, you would most likely wear the store’s
uniform which would consist of a collared shirt and slacks.
Certain job positions require you to dress business casual or business formal. It all depends on the work industry that you are working in.
Understanding Different Dress Environments
It’s good to know how to dress appropriately for different events. If you are going to a business casual event, your attire would include anything from slacks, trousers, a blouse, dress shirt, or a finger-tip length dress.
