Presidents Welcome & Report:

1: RAWCS seeking assistance with containers on 3 March - two shifts early and later 2: Comm. Games and meeting convenience for those two weeks- do we meet on the 6th and 12th of April- general agreement that we will have these meetings. 3: Redistricting proposal to retain our NSW colleagues in our District into the foreseeable future – further input from Ross and Karen, supported by the club.

A presentation on Black Tie Masquerade Ball – 9th June, Gold Coast Convention Centre, in support of Polio and Coolangatta Special School, one gift for Silent Auction per member required, in conjunction with Rotary Club of Gold Coast.

Starts 7.00pm, $170 per ticket. Entertainment and food and drinks package.

Bunnings BBQ on 31 March is actually Easter Saturday ! We now also have another BBQ the following weekend on Sunday 8th April! So should be a good day but please we need volunteers that are not going away to help! Entertainment books $60 each incl. $12 profit – we have agreed to “sell the App” via a link which will be sent out to all members. We will then get $12 each time anyone buys the App through this..

A Disability Employment Service company is interested in any opportunities to sponsor any events at our Club. We have responded that if they are interested they could sponsor another disability Awards Dinner.

1: Attended the official launch of the Rotary Supported “Suzie The Scientist” Preschool Readers program in science led by Griffith University Project Leader, Prof Richard John 2: The Minister for Education, Hon. Grace Grace, spoke very warmly of Rotary and its involvement in youth at the state level.

Scooters Project Leader: David Donation of $20,000 in insulin pumps Chair Karen: Request for woodworkers support for CURRUMBIN Special School

Guest Speaker : Allan Barnett on “ The Secret Project”- Electronic Donation Portals.

1: Donation points traditionally at airports and shopping centres are with cash collection 2: A proposal for a donation electronic portal with a credit card reader 3: Camera included and WIFI, LAN connection. 4: Would have quality presentation of a slide show/video loop to catch people’s eye in the shopping centre 5: Pacific Fair Shopping Centre has agreed to consider the proposal. 6: Users can select their choice of how their donation will be used- to local or international projects 7: They will then be able to take a “selfie” to post on social media which will then promote Rotary and the Shopping Centre. 8: We need to promote that The Rotary Foundation is 91% efficient and our local Club is 99% efficient in donations going to the actual cause compared to many other charities who use third parties to collect donations and only 20-60% actually goes to the cause. 9: Around $3000 cost - landed locally but local support for that and the shopping centre prepared to support in some way 10: This would be a model for Australian Shopping Centres and Rotary Clubs See end for photo.
