LIVE AUCTION

Page 3: Burke Show Cattle

To start with, I would like to thank you for considering our sale and our genetics for your program. Our sale theme of having the “Bases Covered” has a special meaning this year. We strive to bring you variety in types and kinds of cattle. We realize that everyone does not need the same thing, and we want to offer you some variety in breeds, ages and types. One thing should ring true throughout the offering, and that is high quality, sound breeding females. At the time of this letter the San Francisco Giants have just won the World Series. They have not won since 1954. Perseverance, hard work and dedication got them where they are. Kent and Burke Company started this ranch in 1887. Like the Giants, perseverance, hard work and dedication have kept this ranch going for 123 years. Rest assured, Burke Cattle will be here for the long haul! Much like the Giants, we have done it with some lesser known or underestimated players. We have found honesty and hard work are the most important things in a successfulbusiness. We are proud of this offering, and excited to talk about them with you! Please stop in, call, look us up online, or whatever you want to do, but please take a minute to check them out, as they are special! We will help you any way we can, and want to share in your success. Respectfully, Tim Burke

I will forget some people no matter what, but I can't say enough good things about my good friends that put up with me this time of year! Kevin Bremer's help in the clipping room and the sorting andbreeding pens is immeasurable. Casey and Remmington Weiss' willingness to drop what they are doing and help me. Tyler Humphrey for his ability to see what I really need to get done in a day. Katie Johnson, for basically everything related to this catalog and my sanity, and my best friend in the world, Michael Lobato for his help, his cooking and his friendship and support of both myself and this sale.

Most importantly, my family for all they do in every aspect, because I couldn't do it without them!!

THANK YOU ALL!!

Tim

A favorite of the judging teams this fall, this is arguably the most com-plete female in the offering. When you analyze her structure and rib shape we think you will agree. No doubt one of our most success-ful donor cows backs her up on the bottom side. The Hollywood females are making their own name for themselves in the showring. I think enough of the Hollywood fe-males I told Adam Pryor we wanted sexed heifer semen on him.

There are alot of people getting into the Simmental breed. We’ve been in it since the 70’s! While never pursuing big numbers of cattle, we have always leaned heavily on the Simmental maternal influence. This heifer’s dam (pictured below) was Reserve Grand in Denver for Morgan at the junior show and goes back to one of Scott Schakke’s best cow families. I get a lot of calls for Simmy show heifers, I think we may have one right here!

We got lucky finding this great Simmental female. This is the kind of cow power you can hitch your wagon to! I am sure this one will show, but more importantly, this one will breed!

Triple B 238 has been a cornerstone here. We are splitting up a partnership on some of these cows, or they simply would NOT be for sale. The history on this cow is tremendous. She is the dam of Stenberg’s “Shot Of Whiskey” bull that was a high seller in Denver, and our “Double Shot” bull that didn’t make the trip to Denver due to injury, but is a solid herd sire here. She is the Granddam of 717T, who raised our $20,000 Showstopper heifer than was recently named Grand Champion at the Iowa State fair. She is also the Granddam of lot 2 heifer selling today. Bred to Hart-man’s “DRIVER” bull, you cannot go wrong here! Currently averaging 8.7 good eggs on 7 flushes with a high of 16 and a low of 1 thanks to low quality semen!!

I honestly can’t believe Cody is going to part with this cow! She is famous from coast to coast and has females and bulls working in successful herds everywhere. As a show heifer she was Reserve Grand Champion 13 times, oddly enough, never being named Grand Champion! However, her production record speaks for itself. She is averaging 21 viable eggs/flush on 11 flushes. (This includes one 4 egg flush) We have produced 243 eggs out of this cow, and Cody and I feel we can offer her now while she still has years of production left. Get your recips lined up and get ready because opportunities like this don’t come along every day!

Probably one of the most intriguing females in the offering, the 065 cow has been a solid producer that I feel might still have the best ones yet to come. The Maine on her bottom side gives her a softer, hairier look, and she has a tremendous amount of power! I hate to see these Meyers leave the ranch. The Final Smoke calf inside her could pay for her easily before you even start to flush her. 065 has pro-duced 70 eggs on only 3 flushes! We are offering this cow only to dissolve a partnership, get ready, she will make you MONEY!!

Here is a standout Charolais-Shorthorn steer producer. Her full brother was a National Champion at the Charolais Jr. Nationals, and this female will kick out that kind every time! We decided at the last minute to add this young donor. She was Supreme Female at the Cattlemen’s Classic in Kearney, and is a great producer. We bought an interest back in her, and her production is a sale feature. We have only flushed her twice, with both flushes producing around 12 eggs/flush

This cow is in the height of her production as is evidenced by the females selling as lots 4 and 24! Only flushed 2 times producing 17 and 20 good eggs, this is a slot machine on hooves! She sells bred to Final Smoke, but we want you to know, when she calves her teats get big and she takes some management. We are selling her for her abilities in the donor pen, not the calving barn! We were supposed to get 5 Jake’s Proud Jazz embryos with this cow. If we ever do, or you can get them, they go with the cow. There is tremendous potential in this cow if you want them super stout!

This cool baldie out of Mitten Man is hard to part with. I love her body shape and power. She is bred to Rogers’ cool new “One and Only” bull for a sure-shot cool baldie calf. This cow comes from the Blind Badger Ranch in Colorado out of one of their great foundation females.

Foundation Simmental This is a freaky fronted clean structered full sib to our top seller last year that sold to Adam Pryor for $9100. She’s a little skinny cause we had to repossess her from Oklahoma, but bred to Shiver for a February calf, I bet she makes up for it!

Foundation Simmental This is a stout smaller framed club calf producing heifer. This bull will be heard from the next few years because his progeny are awesome.

I am positive this is the best Eye Candy I have ever seen. When you say Ground Sow, this female comes running! Cool white footed baldie with style to burn. Bred to RSVP for a no miss 2011 baby.

A great looking OCC Ringo daughter sells here! This female is good bodied, clean fronted and is good one the move. This is the kind that will go out and work for you.

Big bodied and eye appealing describe this one well. Bred to HAA Discovery for a March calf, this one will put you ahead of the game.

Maintainer

Here is a very solid, smaller made female bred early for an RSVP calf. The RSVP's have been the most consistant sire group we have had the last 3 years.

A cool smaller framed club calf producer with a hint of blue in her. Her dam has been gettin it done here for 10 years now.

This might be the sleeper lot in the bred heifers. Our Ringo bull is leaving some great females, and his mother was a many time champion Market heifer. This heifer has the hair, style, and power to make you money.

Sooner daughters are really starting to prove their worth and this one is no exception. This stylish Maine female puts all the pieces together in a nice package. Her first calf by Max Out will be something special..

Sim-Angus females are worth their weight in gold and this one is the right kind. Bred to Ringer this one should lay down and have an eye appealing calf that will start her off on the right foot.

This Eye Candy female has got it goin' on! Long necked, big bodied and moderate made. This female is a real sale feature, expect big things from this one in the future.

A cool little club calf producer out of one of Cody's show hfrs

Quite possibly the best looking female in the entire offering. She comes from the well respected Ward Eckloff herd, and will be certain to raise those high dollar prospects Ward is so famous for!
