BulletinMay 17, 2013Madhu Ranade, Vice President, Operations Burns Harbor, ArcelorMittal USA has elected toretire.Madhu joined the predecessor company Inland Steel Company in October, 1977 and has heldvarious positions of increasing responsibility, culminating in his current role the last 7 years. Wethank Madhu for the significant contributions and leadership he provided during the past 35 yearsand wish him and his wife Karen well in the future.I am pleased to announce that John Mengel is named Vice President, Operations Burns Harbor,ArcelorMittal USA, reporting to me. In this capacity, John will be responsible for the Operations ofthe Burns Harbor and Columbus facilities.John joined the predecessor company Bethlehem Steel in June, 1976 where he began hiscareer in mechanical maintenance. John has held various positions of increasing responsibilitywithin Burns Harbor and Plate Operations, with his latest role as Chief Operating Officer, PlateOperations, FC USA. Johns tactical skills have been well displayed in facility managementincluding the 110 mill stops and restarts to meet market conditions. He has been instrumental inintegrating the total USA Plate organization and most recently played a key role in themodernization of the Burns Harbor 160 Heat Treat Line. John has a Bachelor of Science degreein Industrial Engineering from Penn State University.I am also pleased to announce that John Battisti is named Chief Operating Officer, PlateOperations, FC USA, to include Burns Harbor, Gary, Coatesville and Conshohocken reporting tome.John began his career with predecessor company Bethlehem Steel in August, 1978 as ametallurgical engineer in Quality Assurance. He has subsequently held various positions ofincreasing responsibility within Burns Harbor Operations with his most recent role as DivisionManager, Plate Mills, Burns Harbor. As an outstanding plate metallurgist, he will lead the platebusiness into the future of increasingly sophisticated products.
