Semi Finals match ups decided GROS ISLET , St Lucia, Saturday April 28, 2012 - St Lucia plays St Eustatius and St Vincent and the Grenadines takes on Grenada this evening in the semi finals of the 2014 World Champpionships Qualification Tournament of the NORCECA Group B Men's here at the Beausejour Indoor Facility. The final placings were decided earlier today, when unbeaten St Lucia saw off Grenada 3-0 (25-22, 25-10 , 25-19) and St Vincent and the Grenadines had an easy passage through St Eustatius also 3-0 ( 25 17-, 25 -10, 25 -18 ) St Lucia completed the preliminary round with a perfect record of three wins and a total of fifteen points . Second place St Vincent and the Grenadines tallied nine points. Grenada finished third with six points and St Eustatitus was winless and pointless from their three matches. Looking ahead to the semi finals, all four coaches are optimistic of their teams' chances. Coach of St Lucia Kendall Charlery said he is looking to another three nil victory in the semi finals as he has his eyes mainly set on the finals. St Eustatius' Coach, Esmond Hook expects his team to bring their best game in the semi finals, having learnt from their previous outings. Coach of St Vincent and the Grenadines Brian Burke believes his team has the psychological advantage going into the match against Grenada. " Having beaten them already we are quite confident, but we have to get the business done and not to become too complacent", Burke projected. Grenada's Coach Raphael Brathwaite anticipates a good battle but with the Vincentians believes his team has enough in them to prevail at the end of the final whistle. The first semi final between St Lucia and St Eustatius commences at 6:30 pm and from 8pm, St Vincent and the Grenadines engages Grenada. The tournament concludes on Sunday evening with the championship match between the two winning semi finalists, preceded by the bronze medal match, pitting the two losing semi finalists.

St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines to contest Final GROS ISLET , St Lucia, Saturday April 28, 2012- St Lucia and St Vincent and the Grenadines will contest the final of the 2014 World Champpionships Qualification Tournament of the NORCECA Group B Men's here at the Beausejour Indoor Facility on Sunday night. The two had contrasting wins in the semi fimnals on Saturday night. St Lucia made light work of St Eustatius 3-0 (25-4, 25-8, 25-13), while St Vincent and the Grenadines on the other hand had a workmanlike 3-1 triumph over Grenada ( 27-25, 20-25, 25-22, 25-17). St Lucia's Coach Kendall Charlery is anticipating a more competitive St Vincent and the Grenadines outfit in the final. " We have beaten them already but I expect a battle from St Vincent and the Grenadines in the final; they are looking a more composed unit, as they are getting better and better with every game", Charlery observed. Charlery's opposing number in Sunday's final Brian Burke in assessing the semi final, thought his team played well, but in patches. He conceded that his players must do better in the title match against the host St Lucia. " We have to play consistently well, defend well at the nets in the final", Burke said. The final is set to serve off at 7: 30 pm. Prior to that, from 6pm, Grenada and St Eustatius meet for the bronze in the third place play off. The first , second and third place teams go forth to the second round in 2013 as they continue their journey for World Championships Qualification, whilst the two finalists, St Lucia and St Vincent and the Grenadines, have already booked berths for the Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association (ECVA) Senior Championships set for later this year.
