French Karate Federation President’s welcoming
The French Karate Federation has the pleasure to invite you to the International Open of Paris 2011 which
will be held from 15 to 16 January, 2011 in Paris.
For the first time, the Open of Paris will take part of the WKF Premier League (WPL), the premier series recently set up by the WKF to “bring together the best Karate competitors in the world in a series of open championships of unprecedented scale and quality.” As a WKF Premier League event, the International Open of Paris will implement the money prize system, as follow:
For individual categories (kumite & kata) : Gold Medalist 500 € Silver Medalist 300 € Bronze Medalist 150 €
After each Premier League event, a new ranking list is issued. The competitor of each category with the highest score at the end of the WKF Premier League season is Called Grand Winner and receives a prize money. The two Grand Winner of each category will be seeded in the following WPL season. The French Karate Federation is proud to host the first WPL event, and our organization team will implement everything to offer the best conditions of competition. VISA REQUIREMENTS
Citizens of EU and EEA: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands and United Kingdom are free to enter France. The required travel document for entry is a national ID card or passport. The holders of passports of the following countries do not need a visa to enter France for stays of no more than three months in a 6 months period: Andorra, Croatia, Israel, Monaco, San Marino and Switzerland.
The following countries require a visa even for a period of less than 90 days: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia & Herzegovina,Georgia, FYROM, Moldova, Montenegro, Russia, Serbia,Turkmenistan, Turkey and Ukraine. CHAMPIONSHIPS VENUE
Since the very beginning, the French Karate Federation has chosen the Pierre de Coubertin Stadium located in Paris 16th to welcome the competition. Capacity of the stadium is about 4000 spectators. It is situated 8 kilometers far from the city center. Due to the closeness of the spectators to the competition area, the stadium is considered as one of the most convivial in Paris. It is thus particularly fitted to the welcoming of international competition of karate and other martial arts.

MEALS AT THE STADIUM
Lunches for the participating delegations in the Pierre de Coubertin stadium, from Saturday 15th to Sunday 16th January, 2011, will be provided by the French Karate Federation.
You will receive your lunch tickets on Friday 14th January during the accreditation in the Mercure Hotel Porte de Saint-Cloud.

BOOKING FOR TRAINING AREA
The French Karate Federation makes available a training room in the Pierre de Coubertin stadium from Wednesday 12th to Friday 14th January, 2011. To reserve this room, please fill in the registration form page 17. (!) Transportation from hotel to training area will not be provided by the French Karate Federation.
REFEREES
The referees that will officiate during the competition will be accommodated by the French Karate Federation at the Headquarter Hotel Mercure Porte de Saint Cloud. Please fill in the bottom of the registration form on page 11 to book a room for the referee of your country.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Reservation in hotels designated by the organization must be done only through the Official Travel Agency, France Sport Association p 8. The French Karate Federation will organize and take in charge only:
> Transfers between your hotel and the sport hall Pierre de Coubertin;
> Lunch in the Pierre de Coubertin stadium on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th January, 2011;
> Accommodation for one referee per country on Friday and Saturday nights (2 nights). The French Karate Federation will refund the cost of the referee room to your federation, so please send us the invoice.

The French Karate Federation has delegated to France Sport the whole logistical organization (Transfers, Transportation, Accommodation and Bookings) during the next French Open organized in Paris. France Sport offers you different kind of accommodations.
Most of the hotels are a few minutes’ walk from “Pierre de Coubertin” Sport Training Hall. If not, free shuttles will be organized (morning: from the hotel to the hall / afternoon: from the hall to the hotel).

AIRPORT/RAILWAY STATION SHUTTLE TRANSFERS
Somebody from the organization will welcome you on your arrival, and will accompany you to the bus/car for your transfer. Shuttles will be organized to transfer your delegation from the airport (or train station) to your accommodation. Your return transfer to the airport (or train station) will also be organized. These transfers will have to be paid by the delegations participating to the competition.

BOOKING CONDITIONS AND PAYMENT
In order to book an hotel for the French Open, please go on the website www.france-
sport.com and connect you to the “Karate French Open 2011” in order to fill up the form, before
the 1st of December, and send it back to us.
The deadline to finalize the booking and to send us your booking form will be December 1st.
The confirmation will be confirmed officially only after the reception of a deposit corresponding
to 50% of the global amount.
PAYMENT :
You will receive an order form in order to pay the deposit (to confirm your booking).
The balance has to be paid maximum two weeks before your arrival. In case of a late booking, after the December 1st , the reservation will be only confirmed after the payment of the global
amount ordered.
CANCELLATION :
You have the possibility to modify the number of participants or the duration of your stay until the December 1st without any penalties.
- From December 1st to December 15th , 50% of the cancellation will be due.
- From December 16th until the beginning of the event, 100% of the cancellation will be due.
