The disciples of Jesus are to recognize their place in God’s plans; Even when God works wonders through us, with our mustard seed-sized faith, we should not take the glory upon ourselves, for all glory belongs to God. Our participation in God's plans is God's grace to us. When we are graced enough to cooperate with God, the work we do is our obligation to God as faithful stewards. Our faith is increased by our works that are manifested by the power of the Holy Spirit. It increases when we grow in the art of service and in serving others; we become more like Jesus who served when He washed the feet of His apostles. [Jn. 13:15] As we grow closer to Jesus in our daily personal relationship, we come to know His Divine Presence, His love, His mercy and all of this leads towards unshakable faith. God bless you!

FAMILY LIFE SPEAKER – The Power of the Relationship with Our Babes, Our Partners, and Ourselves October 17, 2016 at 7:00 PM Dr. Jody Carrington is a Clinical Psychologist who has spent most of her career working with children and families. For 10 years, she worked on the Mental Health Inpatient Units of the Alberta Children’s Hospital, where she became a believer in the power of the relationship in assisting kids and their families who are struggling with emotional disregulation. She now practices out of Olds, Alberta, where she lives with her husband and three children. Dr. Carrington’s work around attachment has become her passion. Understanding how to connect with our kids is a powerful skill, and one that is not always as easy as it sounds. She believes that human connections shape neural connections. Through the relationships that our babes have with their parents and caregivers, they begin to develop the “story” of themselves and others around them, and they decide two things: whether they are worthy of love and support and whether they are capable and competent beings. Our kids are in constant search of the “bigger, stronger, kinder, wise”; they need an anchor. When they have these things in place, they have a much greater chance of developing into strong, healthy, and competent adults. Together, we will spend the evening of October 17th talking about the Power of the Relationship and how understanding the significant role that we all can play in assisting our kids in developing the important skills of emotional regulation through the connections to the people who mean the most to them.
