Travel agencies in Asia Pacific using Amadeus to process reservations increased to 19,500. The primary drivers of this market share growth were gains in Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Malaysia. Major new airline agreements signed in 2009 included AirAsia, SEAir, Zest Airways, and a Memorandum of Understanding with Thai Airways to assess the first phase of rolling out the Amadeus Altéa Customer Management System. Amadeus also increased its headcount in Asia Pacific by 15% to more than 1,400 employees and opened three new offices – in Bali, Indonesia; Koh Samui, Thailand; and Yangon, Myanmar. In the Middle East and Africa region, Amadeus achieved a market share of close to 45% in 2009, a growth substantially higher than the industry as a whole. Despite a slow economy and a decrease in the total number of travel industry bookings in the Middle East and Africa, Amadeus showed resilience with a growth in bookings of more than 9 percentage points compared to the previous year. Furthermore, Amadeus expanded its reach, market share and headcount by opening three new fully- owned Amadeus Commercial Organisations in Syria, Yemen and Lebanon, making it the only global distribution services provider to have its direct operation across virtually all markets in the Middle East. Amadeus also opened its Middle East Regional Hub based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and appointed a new team of senior executives to oversee the growth of Amadeus in these markets. “Despite a tough year, Amadeus shone through in Asia Pacific and the Middle East and Africa regions - two of our key potential growth markets. This has been made possible due to the consistent support and commitment from our travel partners and employees in these markets. In Asia Pacific, Amadeus grew its market share of travel agency air bookings to 33% for Full Year 2009 which processes the largest number of online travel agency bookings, with more than a 51% market share. Amadeus無畏全球景氣低迷,在亞太地區、中東及非洲業績逆勢成長

儘管2009年全球經濟低迷,區域旅遊不景氣,Amadeus仍在亞太地區、中東及非洲的表現依

然亮眼,是成長最快速的分銷通路系統供應商,在主要市場持續居於領導地位。

於亞太地區使用Amadeus系統的旅行社航空訂位量市佔率增長至33%,線上訂位量也創新

高,市佔率超過51%。亞太地區使用Amadeus訂位系統的旅行社已增加至19,500家,澳洲、

香港、印尼及馬來西亞的增長是促使市佔率得以提升的主要動力。此外,Amadeus亦於去年

與亞洲航空(AirAsia)、SEAir、Zest Airways簽訂新的合約;並與泰航簽訂了合作備忘錄,評

估Amadeus Altéa顧客管理系統第一階段的使用情形。而相對地Amadeus亞太地區的員工人

數也增加了15%已超過1400人,並在印尼峇里島、泰國蘇梅島及緬甸仰光等地開設了3個新

的辦事處。

2009年,Amadeus在中東及非洲地區的市場佔有率將近45%,雖然這兩個地區的旅遊訂位

量總數減少,但Amadeus的業績仍然比前一年高出 9 個百分點以上,高出整體產業增長率

許多。此外,Amadeus在敘利亞、葉門及黎巴嫩開設了3家分公司,擴大其事業版圖、市

Amadeus Agency Excellence Award 2009On 19 May 2010, the President of Amadeus Asia Pacific, Mr. David Brett, presented Amadeus Agency Excellence Awards to 10 of our key travel agent partners, in recognition of their outstanding contribution throughout the year 2009. The award represents our highest appreciation of support and loyalty from these invaluable partners.

“Year 2009 was an unforgettable year. We saw low tides with financial tsunami and H1N1 problems at the beginning, then the quick-boost recovery in leisure traffic, and finally a steady up-sign for corporate traffic in the last quarter. Wong Wing Yuen joined Amadeus Hong Kong in April 2010. As a Technical Support Engineer, Yuen is responsible to provide first level technical support for the customers in Hong Kong and Macau, including onsite and remote problem diagnosis and analysis. Prior to joining

Amadeus, Yuen worked for commercial and government sectors as I.T. Officer. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Business Information Technology from Coventry University.

May Ng joined Amadeus Hong Kong in June 2010. As a Sales and Marketing Executive, May is responsible for the marketing and corporate communications activities for Amadeus Hong Kong. Prior to joining Amadeus, May worked for travel agencies and commercial firms as Marketing Executive. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Media and Cultural Studies from Middlesex University.
