KATA PENGANTARDengan kemajuan teknologi pada dekade 1970-1980, ada bebe- rapa profil baja yang ternyata tidak efisien lagi, dan tidak digunakan lagi. Profil lama itu mencakup profil lnormal dan Profil lDlE/DlL/ yaitu DlN, dan bentuksebagai l-WF gantinya (Widetelah diproduksi profil baja yang ekonomis Flange) dan "Structural Tees". Karena itu kami berusaha menyusun "Tabel Profil Konstruksi Baja" yang men- cantumkan profil baru tersebut. Selain itu juga kami lengkapi dengan "Engineering Conversion Factors" dan beberapa tabel lain. Kami harap buku ini dapat berguna bagi para teknisi bangunan dan maha- siswa teknik, baik sipil maupun arsitektur.Buku ini kami susun berdasarkan buku Steel Design Manual, American lnstitute of Steel Counstruction {AISC), New York,1983 dan Japan Steel Design Handbook, Tokyo, 1981, serta tabel-tabel dan diktat-diktat kuliah pada Fakultas Teknik Sipil, Universitas Gadjah Mada, antara 1973 - 1980.Akhirnya kami ucapkan terima kasih kepada semua pihak yang telah membantu penerbitan buku, khususnya Bapak lr.
