November 2011 Activities
During November, 2degrees will be bringing you a range of content and activities relating to sustainability
across the built environment. We’ll be focusing on building integrated renewables throughout the month,
with a look at the UK’s Renewable Heat Incentive as well as onsite energy opportunities both in
commercial offices and retail properties. We’ll also be exploring microgrids and what they mean for
sustainability and looking at the technology trends for intelligent buildings in North America.
Thought Leadership
FROM NOVEMBER 1ST
Throughout November, we’ll have blog posts f rom our regular
line up of contributors including: Robert de Jong from the Urban
Land Institute who’ll be looking at the German/EU investor
perspective of green buildings, Martin Townsend of BRE Global
and Paul Hinkin of Black Architecture. We’ll also be bringing you
updates from some of the key events including the UK Passivhaus
conference, the Intelligent Cities Expo and the 40percent
symposium on managing sustainability in commercial properties.

Starting on November 2nd
we’ll have a discussion forum on what
tactics organizations can use to encourage occupants to change
their behaviors to reduce energy consumption.

Turning up the Heat: Renewable
Heat in the UK, the
opportunities and incentives

The UK’s Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) is a ground breaking
policy to support and accelerate the uptake of renewable heating
technologies. This webinar, brought to you in partnership with the
Trade Commissioner Service at the High Commission of Canada in
London, looks in detail at the initiative and how it will operate. It
also explores the commercial and practical considerations of the
eligible technologies and gives an insight into successful
renewable heating applications in Canada and how they can beapplied in the UK.
