WELCOME
It is my honour to welcome you to the City of Cape Town for the 7th Cape Construction Expo - an event dedicated exclusively to the building and construction industry in Cape Town - bringing together nearly 4 000 stakeholders operating in the sector.
We have identified the construction sector as a priority sector that requires priority support. The Expo provides the City with an opportunity to proactively engage with the construction sector which has over 1 000 SME’s and 1 750 building sector professionals, who are our clients and partners.
During the Expo, the City’s Enterprise & Investment staff will activate our Matchmaking Platform – where attendees will have the opportunity to engage directly with technical experts from the City and our partners about City business processes. This is part of our commitment to improve the ‘Doing Business’ environment in the City.
Our knowledgeable staff will be on hand to provide support and assistance to companies looking to expand or intend doing business with the City. Services include red tape reduction facilitation, business retention and expansion support, advisory services, investment facilitation and access to sector support.
This is in line with our goals and objectives as set out in the City’s Integrated Development Plan (IDP) of creating an enabling environment to attract investment that generates economic growth and employment opportunities.
On behalf of the City of Cape Town, we want to thank the organisers of the Cape Construction Expo for choosing to host the event in Cape Town, and we wish you much success.
ALDERMAN DAN PLATO Executive Mayor City of Cape Town
TRACY-LEE BEHR Portfolio Director: Cape Construction Expo
We are delighted to welcome you to the 2019 edition of the Cape Construction Expo, brought to you by the organisers of The Big 5, one of the largest global construction events.
Over the next two days, we have come together to drive progress in the construction industry and to address core issues such as transformation, compliance, innovation, design and project opportunities across the Western Cape. The timing for such an event could not be more crucial given the many industry challenges we are weathering at the moment.
Cape Construction Expo will afford you an opportunity to connect with new and old peers so that together we can map a positive way onwards to make this sector a sustainable one. Over the next two days, you will get to:
• MEET over 100 exhibiting brands showcasing the latest products and solutions to help you deliver projects on time and on budget
• EXPERIENCE tools and technology in the indoor and outdoor expo• ATTEND the free-to-attend workshop programme (consisting of the Architecture Talks and Contractors’
Corner) which completes your learning experience by providing you with both practical and educational content and the opportunity to gain CPD points
• NETWORK with over 3750 professionals • WIN prize and experience giveaways worth over R50 000
As the Western Cape’s largest gathering of construction, cement and concrete industries we trust that you will leave the event with numerous valuable contacts and great ideas which you can implement immediately to advance your business.
Thank you for your participation and enjoy the experience!
