GREETINGS FROM ANTOINE JOYCE
Over the past 12 months in the programs of the All Stars Project of Dallas, hundreds of young people have learned what it means to create new performances, both in corporate settings and in life, and how to build new relationships with people across the Metroplex and its diverse communities. We have partnered with caring adults like yourself to help young people develop and encourage them to take risks, to perform onstage and off, and to create their lives. These experiences have brought them in contact with a community of successful adults who care about and
support them, which is key to their growth and development.
This year in our Development School for Youth program, 17 companies and their employees partnered with 22 young people to provide hands-on experiences that helped them navigate new environments for success. In addition, 275 young people participated in one of our four talent shows so far in 2016. When I think about this, and the relationships we are building within the city, I think about the hope and possibility the All Stars is bringing to young people across Dallas. I am exceptionally proud to be leading the All Stars and helping to create lasting change in the lives of so many inner-city youth in our city. Thank you all for being my partners in this important and life-changing work.

JONATHAN PEREZ Junior at Justin F. Kimball High School
2016 DSY Graduate
“I joined DSY because I want to be someone and do something meaningful with my life. Just like any other person I have dreams too, and I have the right to chase them. Now I’m not afraid to try something new. Someday I want to work for a big company and year by year work my way to the top. DSY is helping me move one
step closer to achieving that dream.”
ANGEL WILLIS Junior at South Oak Cliff High School
2016 DSY Graduate
“My mom raised four girls on her own. Moving from place to place presented many obstacles and contributed to the timid person I am today. Being a DSY
student has given me an opportunity to express myself. I hope that I can continue to grow as a person who is overcoming obstacles that don’t seem to be much of
a challenge anymore.”
GREG ARNOLD President and CEO, TAC On the impact of the Development School for Youth
“Last summer, TAC sponsored two Development School for Youth (DSY) interns. It was such an extraordinary experience for TAC and its employees that we sponsored two more interns this summer. It is amazing to watch these young people excel in a corporate setting, determined to learn from all that they are given. The program may have set out to transform the lives of DSY students, but it has done so much more than that. It’s transforming mind sets, organizations and communities—and we are honored to be a part of that.”
CHIEF DAVID BROWN Dallas Police Department On the All Stars positive impact on the Dallas community
“The All Stars is creating a new kind of community-building activity on the cutting-edge of police-community relations. The current work done by the All Stars in the Dallas community is much needed. Through their All Stars Talent Show Network and Development School for Youth, their organization has created positive opportunities and afterschool activities for hundreds of kids, which creates a positive trend in addressing community needs.”
