Partner Since 2000, BuildaBridge has delivered arts-integrated education, creative arts therapy, and life skills training programs for underserved children, youth, and adults in homeless shelters, transitional housing facilities, and community centers in Philadelphia. BuildaBridge’s Discovery and Artology programs served 322 children in 2009-2010. Discovery alone served 123 children in the fall of 2010.

Mission BuildaBridge is a nonprofit arts education

and intervention organization that engages the transformative power of the arts to bring hope and healing to children, families, and communities in the tough places of the world. BuildaBridge motivates, enlists, trains, and connects those with artistic gifts with those in greatest need.

Programs Discovery

Arts education promoting a sense of purpose and inspiration in youth by encouraging them to explore their creative potential, and by giving them resources to develop artistically, academically, socially, and spiritually. Healing Creative arts therapy providing safe avenues for youth and adults to express their authentic feelings and enabling them to cope with and recover from traumatic or tough experiences. Artology Interdisciplinary dynamic education connecting artistic and scientific discovery in order to sharpen students’ creative proficiency, stimulate investigative inquiry, and deepen their sense of public responsibility.
