ABOUT THE GAME Bucknell is coming off one of its biggest wins in recent memory with a 48-10 victory over No. 15 Lehigh last Saturday. The Bison will look to keep that momentum going Saturday at Colgate, a place it has not won since 1999. Bucknell ranks fi rst in the Patriot League (and 12th nationally) in rushing defense, while the Raiders are fi rst in the league (and 24th nationally) in rushing off ense. The Bison defense has been the standout unit for the squad this year as it is also No. 1 in the Patriot League in sacks and total defense. The off ense, though, scored its most points since 2008 last week and is averaging nearly 31 points per game over the last three outings. Colgate, the defending PL champion, enters the weekend with a 2-0 league mark and is tied for fi rst place with Lafayette. The Raiders have won three of their last four overall after opening the season with an 0-4 record.
ABOUT COLGATE• Colgate, which is guided by 18th-year head coach Dick Biddle, is 3-5 this year and a perfect 2-0 in Patriot League play. The Raiders are still looking for their fi rst home win in 2013 as all three of their wins have come away from Andy Kerr Stadium.• Senior QB Gavin McCarney is the focal point of the Colgate off ense. Despite playing in just six of the team’s eight games he leads the squad in rushing (520) and passing (1,222) yards. He is averaging 7.4 yards per rush and is completing nearly 70 percent of his passes.• Two-time Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week Mike Armiento leads Colgate’s defense with 62 tackles and his fi ve intercep-tions place him among the nation’s leaders.
BUCKNELL VS. COLGATE SERIES NOTES • Colgate leads 45-16.• Colgate has won six in a row.• Bucknell has not won in Hamilton since 1999.• First meeting was in 1894.• The winning team has scored at least 28 points in eight of the last 10 meetings. The average score for the winning team has been nearly 35 points over that span.
LAST TIME VS. COLGATEColgate 47, Bucknell 33 (Oct. 27, 2012 - Lewisburg, Pa.)• Bucknell piled up 531 yards of total off ense, its most since the 2008 season opener vs. Duquesne.• The 80 combined points Bucknell and Colgate scored were the most in a game involving the Bison since the same two teams combined for 80 points (Colgate 52, Bucknell 28) in 2008.• Jeremiah Young rushed for a career-high 131 yards for Bucknell. It was his second consecutive 100-yard outing.
INSIDE THE LEHIGH BOX SCORE • Bucknell snapped a 15-game losing streak to Lehigh.• Bucknell defeated Lehigh at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium for the fi rst time since 1993.• The 48 points for Bucknell were its most since defeating Duquesne 48-42 in the 2008 season opener. It also equaled the most points for a Bison team in the 77-game series with the Mountain Hawks.• The 38-point margin of victory marked Bucknell’s largest win since defeating Towson 51-10 in 2001.• Bucknell defeated a ranked team for the fi rst time since a 23-17 home win over Holy Cross to close the 2009 campaign.

• The Bison defense forced fi ve Lehigh turnovers and held the Mountain Hawks to 316 yards, 175 below their season average.• Bucknell had off ensive plays of 54, 47 and 36 yards.• Lehigh scored its fewest points since a 24-0 loss to North Dakota State in the 2011 NCAA Championships. The last time the Mountain Hawks lost by more than 38 points was a 59-10 loss to Holy Cross in 2007.• Bucknell dominated the time of possession, 36:44-23:16, including 20:31-9:29 in the second half.• Bucknell’s four interceptions marked its most since posting fi ve picks vs. Robert Morris in 2009.• Bucknell did not have a turnover for the second time this season.• Matt DelMauro collected all 72 of his rushing yards on Bucknell’s fi nal two drives. He carried the ball fi ve times and covered all 66 yards on the fi nal scoring drive of the contest.• Bucknell won a Homecoming game for the fi rst time since 2005 and improved to 42-43-5 all-time on Homecoming.• Bucknell had a 100-yard rusher (CJ Williams) and 100-yard receiver (Will Carter) in the same game for the second time this year, marking the fi rst time the Bison have accomplished that feat twice in the same season since 2001.• The win marked Bucknell’s fi rst victory over a team with at least six wins since 2009 vs. eight-win Holy Cross.

ANOTHER 100-YARD GAME FOR WILLIAMS• CJ Williams rushed 28 times for a career-high 154 yards last week vs. Lehigh. It marked his third 100-yard game of the season.• Williams is the 30th player in program history to post three career 100-yard outings, and is just the 22nd to do it three times in one season.• Williams leads Bucknell in rushing yards (582) this season. That is the most rushing yards by a Bison freshman since Rich Lemon set the program freshman mark of 1,151 in 1993.• Williams ranks 30th nationally in rushing yards per game (97.0) and his six rushing touchdowns place him 48th nationally.• 109 of Williams’ 154 yards vs. Lehigh came in the second half.• Against Lehigh, Williams became the fi rst Bison to rush for three touchdowns since Jeremiah Young in 2012 at Lehigh.
100-YARD DAY FOR CARTER• Freshman WR Will Carter has played in just three games this season, but already has 21 catches for 273 yards. He ranks second on the team in both categories.• Carter’s 21 receptions are the most by a Bison freshman since the program’s No. 2 all-time receiver Jim Horan had 31 in 1999.• Carter already has three receptions of longer than 40 yards.• Carter caught six passes for 130 yards last week against Lehigh. That ranks tied for 34th on Bucknell’s single-game receiving yards list.• Carter’s 130 yards receiving were the most by a Bison since A.J. Kizekai had 140 in 2009 at Lafayette.

WEEKLY AWARDS FOR BISON• Bucknell players received plenty of recognition following last Saturday’s win over nationally ranked Lehigh. RECORD-BREAKING WESLEY• Fourth-year starting QB Brandon Wesley made his return to the Bison starting lineup last week vs. Lehigh and completed 16 of 21 passes for 213 yards and one touchdown.• Wesley started for the fi rst time since game two at Cornell. He missed three games due to a leg injury.• Bucknell is now 4-2 in Wesley’s last six starts, including 2-1 in 2013.• Wesley is Bucknell’s record holder in career pass completions (507), career pass attempts (880), career passing yards (5,560) and career total off ense (6,131).
YOUTH MOVEMENT• Bucknell has nine freshmen listed on its two-deep this week, including four in starting positions.• Freshmen have accounted for 49.2% (545 of 1,108) of the team’s rushing yards, 34.9% (371 of 1,064) of the passing yards and 29.5% (314 of 1,064) of the receiving yards.

TEAM CAPTAINS Seniors Travis Friend, Jeff Goyette and Derrick Palmer were elected team captains last spring. A fullback, Friend is a three-time All-Patriot League selection who was a Preseason Third Team All-America selection by The Sports Network. Entering his fourth year as the team’s long snapper, Jeff Goyette has played in all 40 games over the last four years. He is also a backup linebacker who is a two-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selection. Palmer, a cornerback, is a veteran of 37 games and has piled up 131 tackles to rank third among current Bison.
ALL-PATRIOT LEAGUE• Bucknell had seven players named All-Patriot League last fall and fi ve of them return in 2013.• First-team selections FB Travis Friend and S Matthew Steinbeck returned, as did second-team picks LB Evan Byers, DE Sean Sellers and DL Tracey Smith. • Byers, Friend, Sellers, Smith and Steinbeck were all named to the Preseason All-Patriot League Team.• The only All-Patriot League players to graduate were DE Samuel Oyekoya and LB Beau Traber.
BIG OFFENSIVE LINEBucknell’s opening-day off ensive line was the largest by both height and weight in the last decade at 6’4”, 297 pounds. Additionally, Ramy Kased (325 pounds) was the heaviest game one starter since 332-pound Aaron DeGraff enreidt in 2004.

• Bucknell won its season opener for a third consecutive year, and sixth
time in the last eight years.
• Bucknell’s 24 fi rst-half points marked its most in a half since 2011 vs.
Lafayette (W, 39-13). The Bison last scored more points (28) in a fi rst
half in a 2011 win at Georgetown.
• Bucknell’s six sacks were its most since piling up six in a 2011 contest
against Holy Cross.
• Bucknell improved to 8-1 all-time against Marist. The Red Foxes have
never scored 20 points against the Bison.
• Bucknell QB Brandon Wesley had 227 yards of total off ense to move
into fi rst place on the program’s career total off ense list, passing
Scott Auchenbach.
• Wesley connected with WR Josh Brake on a 66-yard touchdown
pass in the second quarter. It marked the longest pass play by the
Bison since 2010.
• CB Tajh Turner recorded his fi rst career interception, giving Bucknell at
least one pick in nine consecutive games, and 21 of its last 23 outings.
• Bucknell scored touchdowns on three consecutive off ensive posses-
sions for the fi rst time since the 2008 season opener vs. Duquesne

pours and Bucknell turned the ball over six times, compared to zero for
Cornell. The Big Red scored four touchdowns following Bison miscues.
• Bison PR Kyle Sullivan returned a punt 59 yards for a touchdown in
the fi rst quarter. It marked Bucknell’s fi rst punt return touchdown since
2003 and the longest since 1993.
• CJ Williams rushed for 148 yards in just his second game as a Bison.
He became the 74th Bucknell player to rush for 100 yards in a game
and his total ranks 68th on the Bison single-game list.
• Bucknell limited Cornell to 17 rushing yards. The Big Red were the
third consecutive opponent to be held under 50 yards.
• Bucknell’s Lee Marvel posted his second career double-fi gure tackle
game with a game-high 10 stops.
• Bucknell dominated the time of possession 39:30-20:30, including
20:38-9:22 in the second half. The Bison had fi ve drives that took up
at least four minutes on the clock, while the Big Red only once had a
drive longer than four minutes.

series completed a 42-yard pass to Josh Brake that moved him past
Scott Auchenbach and into fi rst place in school history in career passing
yards. Wesley completed the game with 5,347 yards.
• DE Sean Sellers returned after missing three games with a leg
injury and made an immediate impact. The senior had six tackles
and 1.5 sacks.
• Bucknell’s defense posted a season-high seven sacks and held Dart-
mouth to 252 yards of total off ense, 235.5 below its season average.
• Will Carter caught a game-high eight passes for Bucknell in just
his second career appearance. It equaled the most receptions by a
Bison since 2008.
• Bucknell scored 17 consecutive points. The turning point in the game
was when Tracey Smith forced a fumble, Matt Johnson recovered it
and then CJ Williams scored on an 11-yard run one play later to stake
the Bison to a 17-7 lead.
• Lee Marvel covered an on-side kick by Dartmouth in the fi nal minute
to clinch the game for the Bison.
• Bucknell dominated the time of possession in the second half
20:18-9:42.
• Bucknell had four drives of at least 10 plays.
• The Bison snapped a four-game losing streak to Ivy League foes and
