    1. Temporary supports - propping on parallel beams at 1.8 to 2.5 m spacing2. Placing elements - tailormade semi precast elements lifted into position3.     A solid slab can only carry app. one third of its own weight, and haveproblems with long spans due to its high weight. BubbleDeck solves thisproblem by eliminating 35 % of the concrete, while obtaining the strength.Hence, a BubbeDeck slab has the same applied load capacity with only50 % of the concrete required for a solid slab, or with the same slabthickness has twice the load capacity using 65 % of the concrete.

    Heating/cooling

    An energy saving way to heatand/or cool a building, is to usethermoactive slabs. Piping areplaced either at the precasteror onsite.

    Green credentials

    Compared to a solid slab with same thickness,Bubbledeck saves 35 % of concrete in the slab, andsaves 50 % with the same bearing effect. This will lead tofurther reductions through the entire structure.

    The production of one ton of cement causes emissionof about 800 kg of CO2. One m3 of concrete causesCO2 emissions close to 300 kg. This figure doesnot even include emissions due to quarrying, transport, etc.

    Other GHG and natural ressources (water, sand, stone)are reduced proportionally.

    BubbleDeck uses recycled plastic balls, and all materialscan be reused upon demolition.

    Thoughout the structures life-time, the envelope and allinternal work can be removed, and the original framesimply refitted for a new purpose.The biaxial nature of BubbleDeck allows for any internallayout to be reconfigured.

    Earthquake resistance

    Seismic forces impacting a building are proportionally tothe horizontally accelerated mass, which has to beabsorbed by the vertical structure.BubbleDeck with its reduced dead load, will consequentlyreduce these forces.BubbleDeck, the biaxial flat slab system with columns andshear walls, is an effective concept forearthquake resistant concrete constructions.

    BubbleDeck, the biaxial flat slabsystem and columns is ideal forstructures with high resistanceagainst explosions.Get rid of heavy facades and rigidwalls, surpressing an airpressurewhich in worst case leads tocollapse of the structure.

    BubbleDeck can be supplied in3 types of manufactured elements:

    Type A - Reinforcement modules, comprising prefabricated bubble-lattice sandwich elements to be placed ontraditional formwork

    Suitable for suspended ground floor slabs and alteration / refurbishing projects.

    Type B - Filigree elements, where the bottom of thebubble-lattice sandwich includes a 60 mm thick pre-castconcrete layer acting as permanent formwork.

    Suitable for the majority of new-build projects.

    Type C - Finished panels, complete precast slab elements. These requires supporting beams or walls.

    Often used as balconies.

    BubbleDeck is fully tested,and can be calculated in thesame way as a solid slab, withrespect to international (Eurocodes)and national codes.

  • The BubbleDeck floor system is a hollow deck with span in twodirections, in which plastic balls serves the purpose of eliminatingconcrete that has no carrying effect.

    Compared to a solid deck of same height, the weight of thefinished floor is 35 % lower, but still with the exact same strength.An indication of span is 40 times the deck-thickness in bothdirections; cantilevers app. 10 times the deck thickness.

    BubbleDeck is a reinforced concrete deck, consisting of factory-made bubble lattice - balls integrated with reinforcement-meshes.

    Deck types:BubbleDeck can be delivered in 3 versions:

    Reinforcement modules in form of pre-fabricated 'bubble-lattice'.To be concreted on traditional formwork on site.

    Filigree-slabs, where the bottom side of the 'bubble-lattice' unit is furnished with a pre-cast concrete layer which replaces thehorizontal part of the formwork on the building site.

    Finished slabs, delivered to the building site as pre-cast factory-made slab units.
