Bachelor of Tourism Management

Our challenging, practical Bachelor of Tourism

Management could be just the course for you. Field

studies, guest speakers, and a practical applied tourism

management project are all aspects of this degree. We

also offer two diplomas nested in the degree, Diploma in

Tourism Management (Level 5) and Diploma in Tourism

Management (Level 6).

• Field studies, site visits, guest speakers and industry visits

• Small class sizes: not usually more than 20

• One-to-one access to the lecturer

• Good range of courses on offer

• Applied Tourism Management Project

• BTM can be completed in seven semesters (2 years 4 months), despite being normally a “three-year” programme

• DTM Level 5 is a business diploma in Tourism Management, thus opening up career options either in business or in tourism.

• BTM graduates (with average B grades) are readily accepted into any NZ university Masters programmes either in business or tourism

• Employment assistance available throughout study and upon graduating

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS• A minimum of 14 NCEA credits in each of 3 subjects at Level

3, and a minimum of 14 numeracy credits at Level 1 or higher, and a minimum of 8 literacy credits at Level 2 or higher; or

• (for Level 5 entry only) A minimum of 14 NCEA numeracy credits at Level 1 or higher and 50 credits at Level 2 or above with at least 12 credits in each of 3 subjects, including a minimum of 8 literacy credits at Level 2 or higher; or

• Tertiary study; or• Successful completion of a Level 4 qualification in Travel and/

or Tourism; or• Equivalent overseas qualification; and• IELTS 6.0 / TOEFL iBT 60 / TEP 39 or equivalent; and• 17 years and over

FEES• $16,520 (International) per seven courses. Seven courses are

normally completed in a year.• $4,585 (Domestic) per seven courses.
