July - Day 1
Session 1 Dr. A. V Chitre (Dean, Academics)
Prof. Dr. A.V.Chitre, Dean Academics has explained the academic structure and schedule for
the final year with and he elaborated about different platforms offered at the institute for
student’s career development. He also instructed students about various career opportunities
in the field of Mechanical engineering.
Session 2 Dr. D.N. Kamble (HOD, Mechanical Engineering)
Dr. D. N. Kamble, Head of the Department has briefed the vision and mission statement of
the department. He also highlighted the paper published, copyright granted, patent filed and
research activity by faculty and students of the departments. Dr. D. N Kabmle also shared the
difficulties and challenges faced by the department during the pandemic.
Session 3. Dr. Ashok Mache (Associate Dean, R & D)
Dr Ashok Mache has elaborated on the various opportunities and schemes offered by the R & D
Department of college which includes VSRPS and Research Internship. He also explained the
support of IPR cells for filing a patent. He insisted students publish a paper in vishwacon 2021. Dr
Ashok Mache also discussed how to check whether the paper is Scopus/Sci indexed or not and urged
students to use only quality indexed papers as a reference.
Session 4 .Prof . Milind Patil (Associate Dean, Examination Cell)
The Examination schemes and pattern which changes during a pandemic was briefed by
Associate Dean, Examination cell. He has also shown the probable dates of insem and end
sem examination to final year students.
Session 5. Mrs. Swati Jamkar (Library Incharge)
How to check the availability of the book in the library, How to access its online copy, how
to search research papers in the library database were explained by Mrs Swati Jamkar,
Library Incharge. She also briefed on how to access the database of other central libraries.

July - Day 2
Session 1. Prof. Prashant Anerao (Project Co-ordinator, Department of Mechanical
Engineering)
The second day started with the session by Prof, Prashant Anerao on the final ear Project. The
importance of selecting a topic, formation of groups were some of the key points during the
address. Prof.Prashant Anerao has explained a detailed schedule of project activities for the
current semester. He also briefed the formatting of the project report and the importance of
online reference tools like Mendeley during report writing.
Session 2. Prof. Kate – Deshmukh (Incharge, T &P)
Second-day sessions were conducted in detail by Prof Kate- Deshmukh on the placement
activities and training carried out by the VIIT during last year, he also shared the objectives
of the T & P department for the current year. The students were also informed about annual
average packages offered by companies for last years. The students were also briefed about
required training programs planned to develop competencies to approach the job market
because of changing demand from industries with the pandemic.
Session 3. Prof. P. P. Rathod & Team SUPRA/ BAJA
Prof. P. P. Rathod, SUPRA faculty Incharge, illuminated the audience about
SUPRA/BAJA activity and the achievements in this competition. Each member
of team SUPRA/BAJA shared their excellent experience during the event.
Session 4. Prof. A.V. Salve & Team MESA
The students were shown a brief presentation on a list of activities conducted by
the MESA during last year. The students were acquainted with the opportunities
they will be receiving under the Mechanical Engineering Student’s Association
and all the support and guidance that they will be getting from the MESA team.
Session 5. Prof. N B Kate Alumni coordinator
The role of alumni in the development of the college and students was informed to final year
students by Prof. N B. Kate, Alumni coordinator. He has presented the list of the activities
and sessions conducted under the alumni cell. He has also explained the procedure to register
on the VIIT Alumni portal as a student for current academic year.
17th
July - Day 3
Session 1. Dr. Jayashree Bagade (Dean, Students affairs)
Dr. Jayshree Bagade has an emphasis on the importance of Students activity cells in NIRF
and ATAL ranking. She urged the student to focus on an interdisciplinary approach and join
the student cell. She congratulate BAHA team for receiving a fund from AICTE.
Session 2. Prof. Mahendra Gadge (Student welfare Incharge)
Mr M. G. Gadge has given detail information about various Welfare schemes conducted and
supported by the Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology in association with
Savitribai Phule Pune University. He explored the schemes of Board of Student development
which is an activity of State Government-run “Earn and Learn Scheme” for economically
weak and poor students wherein they can work for a maximum three hours a day and earn Rs.
45/- per hour as a remuneration. Also talked about “Students Insurance Scheme”, in which
for Rs.10/- students accidental insurance policy up to Rs.2500000 is covered and if
hospitalized carrying only injuries, medical expenses up to Rs. 50000/- is covered by SPPU
with Oriental Insurance Pvt. Ltd. . Sir has discussed NSS, AVISHKAR, INDRADHANUSH
and Samarth Bharat Abhiyan.
Session 3. Mr Rohit Sinha (Gate Orientation )
The induction program was concluded with a guest session on GATE by Rohit Sinha. Rohit
Sinha has explained in detailed the opportunities for mechanical engineering after GATE. He
also briefed the preparation tactics to students. Many students cleared their doubts in question
and answer session.
