COURSE OUTLINE BTEC HND Business Level 5 The new BTEC Higher National qualifications in Business are designed to address an increasing need for high quality professional and technical education pathways at Levels 4 and 5, thereby providing students with a clear line of sight to employment or to progression to a degree at Level 6. The course adopts a student-centred approach with a flexible, unit-based structure. Students are required to apply their knowledge to a variety of assignments and activities, with a focus on the holistic development of practical, interpersonal and higher level thinking skills. Assessment reflects not only what the student knows but also what he or she can do to succeed in employment and higher education in an ethical manner. Employers are looking for recruits with a thorough grounding in the latest sector requirements. They are also seeking employees with work-ready skills. Higher Education students must have experience of research, extended writing and meeting deadlines. The BTEC Higher Nationals address these various requirements. The qualification is awarded by Pearson, who are one of the leading examining and awarding bodies in the UK and throughout the world. This course is delivered at our London Campus and is run in collaboration with New College Swindon. STUDY MODES

UK and EU students:

‘A’ level standard or overseas equivalent

Mature students (21+) with at least 2 years of relevant

experience and level 2 or equivalent.

Other UK level 3 qualifications (e.g. Foundation

Diploma, Access to HE Certificate, a BTEC National,

Advanced GNVQ or AVCE) or equivalent.

Restrictions on Learner Entry

The BTEC Level 5 qualifications are accredited on the QCF or RQF for learners aged 18 years and over.

NOTES:

Applicants will be subject to the College’s entrance tests and a personal interview by a member of the admissions team.

Selection will be in the light of previous qualifications, past/ present experience, motivation and future

aspirations. Overseas learners must show proficiency in the

English language.
