Welcome toBrushy Creek

The Brushy Creek Municipal Utility District Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of programs, (recreational, educational, and creative) covering a multitude of age groups and varied abilities. The District’s goal is to offer residents the highest quality of life in the Brushy Creek Community by providing the best level of water and wastewater, parks and recreation and other services in the most cost-effective manner.

The Senior ID Card includes use of our Indoor Walking Track, Game Room (foosball table, ping-pong, air hockey, Wii and a variety of other games), Coffee Bar, and free access to our Senior Aerobics Classes.

The same as the BCCC membership; however, this is a 3-month contract rather than a 1-year contract.

Membership IDs are issued for all memberships and passes (except day pass users). There is a $5 replace-ment fee for lost cards.

A $25 activation fee is assessed for all new memberships (individual or family). Fee is due with initial application and for re-activation of a cancelled or expired membership (expired over 30 days). Many fitness classes are free with memberships. View: www.bcmud.org (Forms & Documents) for an online membership application. ALL MEMBERSHIP CONTRACTS (except Individual Short-Term) are for a 12-month period. Quarterly and month-ly memberships will automatically renew. After the initial 12-month period, any membership may be cancelled at any time by providing 30 days written notice. The Center may revise membership fees, charges, and rates at any time. In order to qualify for the “Resident” rate, you must live in the Brushy Creek Municipal Utility District.

Registration and Refunds1. All fees are payable at time of registration.2. Pre-registration for programs is on a first-come, first-serve ba-

Brushy Creek Municipal Utility District offers financial assistance for eligible youth to participate in Parks and Recreation classes, programs, and activities. The exclusive source of funding for the program is private donations. Funds of the District may not be used to provide financial assistance. As a result, the availability and amount of any financial assistance is subject to the receipt of private donations by the District to fund the program.

Donations are accepted for the youth scholarship program. If you are interest-ed, please contact the Community Center Coordinator at [email protected]. The Youth Scholarship Application Form is available on our website at: www.bcmud.org (Recreation > ‘Programs and Classes’ and ‘Youth Leagues’).

Kamp KinderdanceA week long half-day camp that incorporates dance, gymnastics, theatre arts, crafts, snack, story time and game time. Each week is themed to make the week unforgettable. Enrich your child in the legend of the fox and have them join us at Camp Foxtail as we unveil their tale of summer adventure. Have your entering K-6th grader join our counselors as we explore 11 weeks of fun, education and excitement. Every theme week will include 2 trips to our district pools and an out-of-District field trip. In groups with children their age, campers will do games, songs, crafts, sports, nature lessons, snacks and themed activities that will keep them busy all summer long. Coach Newkirk is offering weekly sessions of small group off-season volleyball training. These one-hour

training sessions will be aggres-sive, move quickly and insist on the focused and driven young player(s). Each session will have at least 3 players with a maximum of 12 per training group. This is a “Prepare for Club” or Se-lect Volleyball Training. Athletes will receive 1-on-1 instruction including position training, conditioning/jump training, and team development con-cepts. Small group training will in-crease the number of “touches” and allow for complimenting player devel-opment training (backrow specialist may dig, while hitters hit and setters set).Small Training Groups must be pre-pared prior to enrolling. Please con-sider player(s) work ethic, skill level, volleyball goals, and age.

This volleyball camp is specifi-cally geared toward looking, acting, and playing like a volleyball player. Racquetball CourtsWe have 2 regulation-size racquetball courts: Reserved Court: This court can be reserved by members up to 48 hours in advance by calling 255-7871 x1 or x2. Challenge Court: This court is used on a first-come, first-serve basis. A sign up board is located outside the court. Players wishing to challenge must put their name on the bottom of the list. See full Challenge Court Policy posted outside the Racquetball courts. Equipment is available for members use in the League Office.

Connect with other players, enjoy some good friendly competition, and enhance your racquetball experience. Come to weekly Challenge Ladder Nights or arrange matches at your convenience. We will also have special Challenge Ladder Events a couple times per year.

The club is open to beginner through experienced run-ners and walkers. Participants work with an instructor for group workouts. Our Fitness Depart-ment will introduce and teach proper Weight Room tech-niques, etiquettes and ethics. The Aerobics Class Schedule is posted at the community center and online at www.bcmud.org (Recreation > Fitness). Possible class offerings are described below. Most classes are free to Members. Residents and Non-residents may purchase a punch card for 10 classes. Senior ID Pass holders may attend the classes indicated with an *.

Body Toning Plus:Cross train with a new energetic format that focuses on your whole body with strength training drills. Class ends with abs and stretches.

Calorie Killer: A combination of weights, step drills, med-balls, and squats, broken up by bursts of high intensity cardio. Guys this class is for you too!

Cardio/Sculpt: Designed to efficiently and effective-ly work all major muscle groups, uti-lizing weights, bands, stability balls and medicine balls. Join us in this energy boosting workout.

Intervals: Cardio conditioning and resistance work all in one. This one hour class, adaptable for all levels, may utilize the step, weights, resistance bands and jump ropes to achieve a full body workout.

Interval Kickboxing:A high intensity kickboxing class with punching and kicking series. Abdominal toning & muscle sculpt-ing, along with stretching at the end of the class, provide a full body, well balanced workout.

* Low Impact Aerobics: Perfect class for our active seniors. A great cardiovascular activity with a minimum amount of impact along with some resistance training. (re-sistance bands, light free weights, manual resistance activities). Mon-days & Wednesdays 12:45-1:30pm.

Pilates Class: Strengthen and tone muscle, im-prove posture, provide flexibility and balance, unite body and mind, and create a more streamlined shape.

Step N Tone: Beginner friendly 40 minutes of step-ping followed by 20 minutes of toning and a cool down stretch. Great for beginners to intermediate students!

* Stretching for Health:This class focuses on stretching exercises that will benefit each indi-vidual. The flexibility exercises will allow participants to perform func-tional everyday activities. Tuesdays & Thursdays 12:45-1:30pm.

Yoga: Learn to relax mind and body and in the process release tension and stress in your daily life while increas-ing flexibility.

Zumba Gold: Targets the baby boomers with mod-ified moves and pacing to suit the needs of active, older participants, as well as those just starting their journey to a fit and healthy lifestyle.
