3 Step Drop
The 3-step drop game in the Jet package is the easiest way to throw the football.
High percentage play because even when the route is covered we will roll away from the wide receiver to a three-tier route on the backside.
The problem with the 3 step passing game is CV2 Alternative is to site adjust and throw the fade. 12% of all fade
routes are completed. With our three step drop game the quarterback will read the
perimeter defense that is defending the wide receiver and decide weather to throw the called route or boot away.
This gives our quarterback a chance to complete every pass, whether the defense shuts down the called route or if we boot away.
Backside Route
The backside of the 3-step route is run almost the same as waggle.
Slot will release and drags exactly like the waggle pattern.
The play turns into a waggle when the called route is defended.
The action of the halfback dragging freezes the strong safety and does not allow him to run under the called route.

Tight End
The tight end or first eligible receiver past the center will run what we call a delayed arrow.
The tight end will contact the end man on the line of scrimmage.
He will engage #1 for a two thousand count, and then pivot on the outside foot turning his butt into the #1 defender.
Once the tight ends has the #1 defender on his back he will run flat down the line of scrimmage away from the defense.
Wing
The wingback route is called a smash route.
The smash route is executed by releasing vertically for a depth of 8-10 yards then bending the pattern 22 yard deep 4 yards from the sideline.

Quarterback
The quarterback will check the called route to the wide receiver.
If the quarterback doesn’t like the defensive alignment he will pump fake the wide receiver and roll to the backside reading arrow, smash, and drag

Loose Formation
Slot will block down on the defensive end by jamming his hands into the hip of the DE.
He will drive the defensive end for a thousand two count.
After the slot holds his block for the one thousand one count he will run the same pattern as the tight end (delayed arrow).

Scat/ Spacing Technique
The Scat route is a spacing route in which the receiver finds the hole between the linebackers approximately 6 to 7 yards deep.
When running the scat the receiver (vs. zone) will find the hole between the linebackers, show the Quarterback his numbers, and if the receiver is open show his eyes.
If the quarterback does not see the receiver’s eyes he will go to the next receiver in the progression.
If the receiver is being played man he will punch and pivot.
We punch the defender with the inside hand and pivot outside running away from the defender.
