Dr. William McCauley will present the Nov. 4 book review program on the book The BigFatSurprise:WhyButter,MeatandCheeseBelong intheHealthyDiet by Nina Teicholz. Teicholz challenges everything we thought we knew about dietary fat. She documents how the low-fat nutrition advice of the past several decades has amounted to a vast uncontrolled experiment on the entire population with disastrous consequences for our health, in light of the epidemics of obesity, diabetes and heart disease facing our nation today. Bill McCauley was born in Sutton, West Virginia. He received his bachelor’s and medical degrees from the University of Virginia, with an internship and residency at the Hospital University of Pennsylvania. Dr. McCauley moved to Williamsport with his wife, Beverly, in 1975 to accept an appointment as a physician in pulmonary medicine at Susquehanna Health . Dr. McCauley and his wife have t w o g r o w n sons.

RETURN SERVICE REQUESTED Lucy Henry will present the special Dec. 2 book review, “SingMeaStory,” which will feature a vocal and dulcimer performance by Ms. Henry. Come and listen to ballads and folk songs that communicate a storyline through music. Ms. Henry sings with the Williamsport Civic Chorus and has performed with VJQ, a vocal jazz quartet, and Black Bear Crossing, an acoustic folk group. She is a frequent performer with the Williamsport Community Theater League, a flutist in the Flute Choir and performs with the Penn Central Wind Band. Ms. Henry was one of the founders of the local branch of the New Horizons Band and continues as one of the conductors. We hope you will attend this book review and enjoy a delightful musical segue into the holiday season.
